They have a wide range of pastries & baked treats & have some available frozen croissants, almond croissants, chocolatines, bread & more to take home & warm up when you can't make it to the store. Since my last visit they have added hot crepes made fresh on the spot. It would be great to be able to sit & enjoy with coffee but unfortunately they do not have seating for in store enjoyment - so as far as I know it is strictly a take out establishment. Some cafe options & a few tables would be a great addition!
This was the first time at the bakery. I usually go to the gluten-free bakery down the road but it was closed. So I thought I would try this one.
To my delightful surprise the opera cake was probably the best I've ever had. Amongst other delightful pastries, that honestly made you feel not left out, being gluten free! I can't wait to go back & buy everything all over again
We are from Chicago & we do not have anything like this! We left with C$70 worth of pastries, including a bag of frozen chocolate croissants, a bag of frozen, regular croissants, two eclairs & two chocolate croissants. The eclairs were out of this world the chocolate croissants were amazing. If you're gluten-free run, don't walk to this bakery. It is pricey, but honestly, what gluten-free bakery is not pricey unfortunately.
It's a pretty simple & clean bakery store! They didn't have drinks in the menu but you get still a nice varieties of gluten free dessert, sandwiches & more! I tried their almond croissant there & the one I had was bit hard for me to bite on & it taste bit burn & dried I couldn't eat it at all after a few bites. For the price that I pay for, I was little sad & disappointed to received a dry croissant as my snack to eat before heading to work today. Aside from that, the service is friendly & didn't had lots of place to seat there or don't sell drink but I ask to the person who worked there if I could have a glass of water & they gave me some water & the ambiance is very cozy & quiet
Excellent gluten-free bakery with TONS of vegan options. The tarts were to die for. Yum!!!
Pastries were okay. Pistachio eclair didn't really have much pistachio flavor - just tasted sweet. The passion fruit mousse & the chocolate croissant tasted nice & had great texture. The brownie was thick & chocolatey, but also gritty. Overall, I'd say that all items were priced reasonably. When I came in, I wasn't greeted by the person working despite me saying hello first. Customer service/overall vibes were definitely lacking, & she seemed miserable/bothered to be interacting with me. Not sure if many people who look like me (Black people) stop by this place...but based on my experience I'll be visiting another gluten free bakery the next time I'm in Montreal.
Love a gluten free bakery, & this one is no exception. It's tough seeing the pasteries around Montreal & not being able to partake, but this helped us feel included. We ordered delicious empanada, which we ate right away (served warm), & then we also got croissants to go, both sweet ones & giant savory sandwiches we could take with us. Definitely recommend visiting here if you are celiac or gluten free.
When it comes to gluten free pastries, I've not seen a single bakery that comes close to what you can get at Boulangerie Le Marquis. I live in Ottawa but always come here when I'm in Montreal. I've had a lot of the tarts, but the Pain Chocolate & Croissants (both gluten free) are certainly the best. The dough is actually laminated, the way you'd expect a croissant to be. So many gluten free bakeries have let me down on that front but this is not one of them! You can buy them fresh or frozen. They store well in the freezer for up to a few months & are easy to reheat. Pictures attached are the pain chocolats reheated in the oven with an egg wash.
My favourite gluten free bakery I have ever been to! I've been all over downtown looking for good ones & this is my favourite spot. The people are lovely & food is incredible. My dad & I are celiac & have never tried a croissant as good as that one! The sandwich's are also our fav
I was so happy to find an all gluten free bakery! The almond croissant was amazing & the staff was super friendly! 😋 🥐
The croissant was the best I've had in my entire life & now I can't enjoy the croissant options in gluten free bakery's in my home city Calgary Alberta. Please open one here 😭😭 I'm ruined now because it's not even worth it to eat croissants in Calgary once you've had such a high quality one from Marquis!
Absolutely love this bakery, all gluten free yet loved ones without gluten issues wouldn't even realize a difference. I love this bakery sooo much I've made two return trips all the way from the Toronto area. A visit to Montreal is incomplete without a visit to this place!
