macaroni au fromage bleu & pacanes (la burrata n'était déjà plus disponible) un plat qui semble bon & difficile à rater de prime abord… Pâtes molles & cassantes (beaucoup trop cuites), absence totale de fromage dans la sauce farineuse (sauf un petit bout de fromage bleu sur le côté de mon assiette qui me riait au visage).
La gentille serveuse m'a offert de changer de plat, un steak de chou-fleur m'arrive, le sourire sur mes lèvres, un chou fleur trop cuit, accompagné de ses bok choys bouillits (trop longtemps, vous l'aurez deviné), le tout parsemé de pois chiches tout droit sortie de la canne (pas d'assaisonnement), bref je vous passe les détails. Je partage cet avis ici, mais j'ai aussi mentionné tout cela à ma serveuse (son service était impeccable, rien à voir avec la qualité du restaurant). Sans vouloir trop m'en dire & en lisant les commentaires ici, j'en comprend que cela est un problème récurant & clairement connu du management (cela ne risque donc pas de changé d'ici votre prochaine visite malheureusement). J'aurais du regarder les avis Google avant de m'y rendre… ne faites pas la même erreur que moi.
L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel initially offered a promising atmosphere when I arrived - the space felt elegant & inviting, & the wait time for food was reasonable. I ordered the Onglet de boeuf with house butter, green beans, fries, & a glass of wine.
While the presentation was good, the portion size was noticeably small for the price point. I would recommend asking your server for more details about portion sizes before placing an order. The service itself was basic - professional but unmemorable, lacking the warmth or attentiveness that you'd .expect from a venue of this reputation.
Unfortunately, midway through my meal, an internal disagreement broke out among the staff & the manager. Being seated near the entrance, I witnessed the situation unfold, with staff becoming visibly distracted & leaving customers unattended at their tables & at the door. It came across as very unprofessional & disorganized, which really took away from the dining experience.
As for the food itself, the steak was underwhelming. It lacked seasoning & was quite dry, suggesting it had been sitting under a heat lamp too long before being served. Overall, it did not feel worth my time or money.

After experiencing a 4-hour delay at YYC & a rebooking for my connecting flight, resulting in a total wait time of 8.5 hours, Air Canada provided two $15 meal vouchers that can be combined. Is this sufficient compensation? Fortunately, Mary at L Auberge at Gate 52 of the Trudeau International Airport was extremely accommodating, & kind after asking questions, making my day significantly better.
Food was fine , I requested for a steak sauce which I know most restaurants will never make one, but in my experience a single order of steak & request granted . Thank you to the whole team. Your gesture really made me felt a lot better .
Hanger Steak was beautiful, crab cakes very nice. Best thing was the service from Danny/Dani. Really nice guy & I'd appreciate it even more if they found my hat which I left there!
I had the hanger steak, it was so delicious, just melted in your mouth. I haven't had a steak this good in a while. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, & the staff are so friendly
Food was delicious, filling & really well prepared. The hanger steak was cooked really well & had good flavor. The French Chardonnay wine paired really well & gave off a light tart after taste which was fantastic. Salmon was cooked beautifully & fell apart. Definitely recommend. Our server Sylvain was very nice & made some marvelous wine suggestions.

I don't understand how this place can have so many negative reviews. Yes, this is a RESTAURANT. The portions will not be as huge as McDonald's. Yes, the prices here are also not like McDonald's. but the food is wonderful! our waiter Argyro lifted my spirits after a terrible experience at this airport. We ordered steak & portabello salad. the food arrived within 10 minutes. don't read negative reviews! just try it!
Delicious homemade-style food. I recommend hanger steak, salmon, tuna poke bowl & roast beef sandwich. The prices are fair for the portion size & the quality received! Staff is very kind & professional. Lastly the atmosphere is great!!!
