Great selection on the menu: vegetables, meat, & fish - everything was good. The restaurant's atmosphere was pleasant.
However, the service was very cold; + it took more than 30 minutes for our table to be cleared, & overall our waitress seemed indifferent. It's really unfortunate that this negatively affected our experience. It won't inspire us to return. I like the idea of tip?sharing/service included on the bill, but it should not come at the expense of the service itself
We loved the squash plate! The combo of pistachios & feta cheese was lovely & the added cumin was a nice kick!! The pie was delicious too, especially with that whipped cream on top. The pasta was meh for us, nothing special. The sandwich had fluffy bread & the cheese flavor really came through, well balanced. The beef was nice & tender, but we felt the chimichurri sauce was a bit bland. We will come back to try their brunch one day.
Butttt the price tho.. for the super small portions they were overpriced.
The food didn't really stand out, especially given the high price points, but the banoffee pie was excellent & a great way to end the meal.
Chefs kiss!!! I love the brunch menu. The service was lovely, atmosphere terrific. A very'approachable' spot - unlike some snooty restaurants in MTL
All the servers were so friendly. The hamburger was delicious, fries were good too. I like the atmosphere, a laid back kind of feeling. Oh & the lattes were so good.
$377 for 2 people for dinner & the word is mediocre (at best). The chicken liver toast came out very burnt so they redid it. The tartare was nice; the best dish we had. Carrots with muhamarra were meh. The biggest disappointment of the night was the beef with chimichurri which came out as barely cooked & very cold slices of beef & the chimichurri was mid. We sent it back & the staff weren't bothered at all- nobody even asked why or even came back to our table until I called someone over to get the bill. Most disappointing $377 I've ever spent.
Stone cold classic. Best breakfast sandwich in Montreal. Heavy on veg dishes & awesome natural wine selections.
Previously gave this place a full 5-stars, because I love the food (eclectic, British cuisine) & have been coming here for almost a decade.
But the service the past handful times has been comically bad. I don't need to be pandered to, but the couple of people who've served us a few times lately should not be working in the service industry.
One server in particular, working the bar, snapped at me when I simply asked about how long the food was taking (it had been 45 minutes). When she realized she had forgotten to even put our order in, she was barely apologetic. Very disappointing!
Toujours un des meilleurs brunch/lunch à Montréal pour moi, une carte alléchante & diversifiée & surtout goûteux ! Service au top !
The food was delicious. I had the chicken liver on toast. Very creamy. Squash soup was delicious. Very good service waiter explains the various dish. Artisan beer IPA was fruity. I would go again. Prices look high but they include gratuities.
I can't believe I forgot to leave a review for this place when we were there last October. Honestly, WOW! We got into Montreal late & wandered around the area & there was not a whole lot open, but we felt a vibe when we walked by & decided to try. The service was attentive & the atmosphere was moody, intimate & fresh & OMG the food!!! We started with meaty oysters & warm sourdough with the most delicious butter. We shared the burger & frites & I still dream about going back for the burger with the best Quebec cheese. The cocktails & beer selections were on point & it was a really great introduction to start off our epic honeymoon in Montreal!
This is my favorite place of all time. Anything you order will be great. Everything seems so effortless but the quality & service speaks for itself. Will return every time I am in Montreal.
Good food & good service. Enjoyed the chimichanga steak.
Great brunch, probably my favorite place for brunch in Montreal.
Um, so I'm completely blown away by how casual & comfortable Larry's comes off being but at the same time the service is so attentive & warm, & the food (& even the coffee?!) is out of this world. Easily my best & favourite brunch in Montreal.
