Oh my goodness. The bagels were amazing. Sesame & cinnamon raisin were our choices this morning, & they didn't disappoint.
The gal taking our orders & payment was phenomenal. Very attentive.& helpful.

We had a classic sesame bagel toasted with regular cream cheese. My son & I agreed it was delicious. Perfectly crunchy with slight sweetness. The server was great & practiced french with my son who is learning.

La Fabrique de Bagel de Montréal at Balfour is everything you want in a neighborhood bagel shop. The bagels are fresh, warm, & perfectly chewy with that signature Montréal-style flavor. I had a sesame bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, & capers, & it was absolutely perfect - fresh ingredients & generous portions. The staff were super welcoming & helpful, & you can tell they take pride in what they do. There's something really comforting about walking into a place that smells like fresh-baked bagels & coffee - it just feels right.

Classic is perfect. Sesame cream cheese nuts & honey was less inspiring, but still great. Very different bagel texture to NY style.

From the States, excited to try bagel in Montréal. I got a sesame bagel with pesto cream cheese. I thought there should have been more cream cheese, & I didn't get much pesto flavor. The bagel itself seemed small & not too chewy. It was good, but lacked that je ne sais pas.

Passing through on my way to Ottawa, I decided to stop & get some bagels to bring back to my family. I am English & the male employee spoke great English, but I asked for 12 plain bagels & he gave me 12 sesame seed. I'm not a big fan of sesame on a good day, but these bagels had an astronomical amount of sesame seeds! I'm not kidding. It was shocking. lol. Anyway, bagels froze nicely & I was able to bring them back home a few days later. I would return if I ever return to Montreal (& watch the employee more carefully).
