Understaffed establishment & arrogant/combative manager.
Reserved 12 places for my son’s birthday for 5:30pm. We arrived at 5:32pm & all guests were there by 5:45pm due to single lane traffic on the bridge. Waitress was very nice & took our drink order within the first 10 minutes. We ordered a variety of cocktails & received our drinks again within 10 minutes which was good.
The problems arose at this point when our order wasn’t taken for 45 minutes. The kids started to get restless & to the credit of the waitress she was overloaded working both sides of the restaurant. We patiently waited & finally placed our order. 1 hour passes before anything is served. At this point I ask the front hostess to speak with the manager since the kids were pretty hungry & if the wait was much longer - we would simply go somewhere else.
Queue the manager - who comes from the back with a tone of aggression instead of understanding. An example - he immediately starts reviewing timelines. The fact that we haven’t in fact been waiting 2 hours but 1 hour 45 minutes & that he could check the cameras. He then states the fact that we are a party of 27 people should factor in to our patience… however I correct him & state we are a party of 12, not 27. This is the only time his demeanour slightly changes. After going back & forth over cameras, times & semantics - I ask what the resolution is here. He mentions he will try to get the food out soon & that something will be done for the long initial wait. Food comes out about 20 minutes after that conversation.
At the end of the meal the waitress offers us 3 sets of small donuts approved by her manager… which I assume is for the initial wait. We decline & I go to speak with the manager who has now left. Any decent manager would come by the table & at the very least check to see how the food was after debating a customer over cameras for 10 minutes.
Food was fairly decent but the service was abysmal.
Je suis un client régulier à la Belle & la Boeuf & j’ai que de bonne chose à dire sur le personnel & la nourriture ! Sans compter les assiettes abondantes & la déco est super ! Malheureusement vendredi passé le 8 septembre j’étais ici vers 16:00 quand une dame désespérée à la dernière minutes à réserver le restaurant pour 85 personnes avec la propriétaire, donc j’ai dû changer mes plans avec mes amis car nous aurions voulu être assis côté bar ! Finalement seulement 20 personnes sont venu ! Donc comment peut-on passé de 85 - 90 à 20 personnes En seulement 2 heures !!!! Aussi peut-être voulais-t’il la place juste pour eux sans se soucier de la perte financière de l’établissement !!! En plus il y a eu 3 employés don 1 au bar qui ont rentrer en extra & qui n’on pas fait d’argent car il était 3 à se partager 20 clients mais le service a dû être hors père !!! Aussi si jetait gérant ou propriétaires j’aurai peut-être aussi demandé une contribution pour perte d’achalandage & financière !!! C’est triste car c’est personnes non pensé qu’à eux sans se soucier des autres !!! Pour finir je viens ici seul & en groupe depuis l’ouverture & je continuerai à venir ici avec mes proches. Best burgers in town!! So many options & beautiful restaurant close to the West Island. The Service was great, I would recommend to burger lovers😋
Delicious food, I had smoked meat in my burger & the portion was generous!
Was there last Friday, 2023 Aug 18 around 1900h. A busy night, lots of noise & activity. Wooden floor heaved due to previous flooding. Ordered burgers 1 mme Pac Mac & 1 la chevre (goat cheese). Waited a long time. Both burgers arrived undeniably DRY & lacking taste (seems the patty is just meat & nothing else - at least that's how it tasted. IMHO, the Mme Pac Mac should not be on the menu - the addition of fried chunks of cheese macaroni adds nothing to the taste/experience - just comes out gooey - not something I can appreciate in a burger. The house salad that I had was fine but had a very spicy vinaigrette that not all folks would tolerate - poor choice by the chef, if he wants to appeal to the largest audience.
Decor was all over the place. The moose head was staring at me while I was eating & I didn't like it. The clientele was also questionable. We had a Napoleon complex trying to overpower a bunch of teenage waitresses. What a big man. Moosehead + Shoken staff = A severe lack of ambiance. Shout out to the girls who withstood that guy & continued to serve the customers professionally. Food was decent.
The atmosphere is quite nice..the staff is terrific ! But don't expect much from their $20+ burgers..nor from the administration
