Best Thai !! Thump up love authentic Thai food spicy was perfect add & BBQ duck red curry with stick rice , pad Thai with shrimp & Sauté aubergine au crevettes
I will be cal again
Such a kind host, & delicious food! The mango sticky rice was amazing.
The food was tasty. There is no doubt in that. However, for 50 dollars, I got something that was worth around 15, 20 to the max. Half a mango, less than a cup of sticky rice was 13$. Then,PANEANG was NOT worth 24 bucks (portion wise). 24 bucks is what you would pay for a high-end ENTRÉE. LOVED the flavors, but price is NOT worth it.
Wow!! What a great experience with real Thai food & lovely friendly Thai staff warm of smile I recommend dessert mango sticky rice & tender beef Khaosoi I will be back again
Deliciously flavorful food! I ordered the pad see ew & it did not disappoint. Try their mango rice too
⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐? Authentic Thai Delight in the Heart of Montreal!
We had an incredible dining experience at Khao San Resto Thai, & I can confidently say it's a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai flavors in Montreal!
We ordered a variety of dishes:
• Chicken Satay
• Red Curry Chicken & Rice
• Sweet & Sour Chicken
• Tofu Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice
• Chicken Noodle Soup
• Mango Sticky Rice
Every single dish was prepared to perfection - fresh ingredients, bold flavors, & beautiful presentation. My personal favorite was the Sweet & Sour Chicken with rice. The chicken was perfectly crispy, served with bell peppers, red chilies, onions, pineapple, & carrots. It delivered that perfect balance of sweet, sour, & spicy, paired with a generous portion of rice. Absolutely delicious!
The Chicken Satay was tender & flavorful with a rich peanut sauce, & the Red Curry Rice had the right amount of heat & creaminess. The Tofu Fried Rice was well-seasoned & satisfying, & the Chicken Noodle Soup offered a comforting, aromatic broth. To top it off, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect sweet ending - fresh, fragrant, & beautifully plated.
& for those who enjoy a good drink, don't miss out on their famous Singha & Chang beers - authentic Thai brews that really complete the experience.
The service was fantastic - the staff were genuinely kind, attentive, & ensured we had everything we needed. Our food arrived quickly, & we felt well taken care of throughout the meal.
If you're in Montreal & craving Thai cuisine, Khao San Resto Thai is a spot you shouldn't miss. We'll definitely be coming back!
Hidden gems I love the Thai food here green curry with rice & salad papaya are so good 👍 this is my 2 time & never disappoint it
I will bring my friend back again
Stumbled upon this place a few months ago. It has quickly become one of my go to places. The food is amazing, I always take the papaya salad, extra spicy. I've had alot of their menu & one of my favorite dishes is the Pad kee Mao the thick rice noodles are fresh & chewy, the texture is unmatched & a rare find.
Absolutely try this place. The staff are full of smiles, polite & efficient.
Good thai food. In the pic: vegetable fried rice & mango sticky rice
Ordered the green curry with crispy chicken. Unfortunately crispy chicken was no longer crispy because it has been mixed with the green curry sauce. I though that they will put it on the side... dessert mango sticky rice is good but too expensive for the quantity (take away)
As soon as you go in there is a massive window that overlooks the busy street. My boyfriend & I sat there. It was just the two of us for a lunch & it wasn't busy. As soon as we got in, the place had a smell of warmth & chilly like essense. We ordered a Green Curry 🍛 & a pad kra Pao with a fried egg, & of course some sticky rice. We shared everything. & it was so filling. I saved this spot. I'll go back again!
Positive experience: Tom yum, papaya salad, sticky rice - everything was good as well as the service.
We bought Pad Kra Pao, Crispy shrimp, Thai fried rice & mango sticky rice. We came to Montreal for a short vacation & after a very long time I had "authentic thai food" at Khao San Montreal. Food was so good, portion size & prices are reasonable. Will definitely come back when we visit Montreal again. Was craving for Thai & it definitely hit the spot! Best thai food ever! Coming from a person who visited Bangkok frequently. Staff is super kind & friendly & helpful!
Generous portion but disappointing taste & high price considering the quality. My experience was definitely far from the 5 stars average rating they have. I had pineapple fried rice & there was only a few pineapple pieces that were white & didn't taste like much... So basically it tasted just like a regular fried rice, no sweet pineapple flavor it was really disappointing. & the fried rice itself was not particularly well made. Chicken was a bit dry, but the rest not fried enough. There was also a cold air draft in the dining room (probably alimenting their fumehood from a wrong air intake) so it was uncomfortable. Also, they advertize a lunch special outside but charged me full price actually. Also, it's kind of a fast food style restaurant where the kitchen staff will actually tell you go sit, bring you a menu & bring your plate, but you don't really get an attentive table service otherwise... But they do suggest generous tipping in the 15-25% range on the terminal when paying which is a bit much for a minimal service. Long story short, ok restaurant, but very far away from deserving its current high rating in my experience. Food, comfort & service were all lacking.
I recently visited Thai Khao San & loved their papaya salad & mango sticky rice! The papaya salad was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, & spicy, with crisp green papaya & a satisfying crunch from the peanuts. The mango sticky rice was heavenly-soft, sweet rice paired with juicy, ripe mango & creamy coconut drizzle. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai dining experience!
Authentic Thai food cooked by Thai chefs! I tried the papaya salad (ส้มตำ) with a side of sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียว), larb gai tod (ลาบไก่ทอด) & pad thai (ผัดไทย), which were all so good, like the ones I ate in Thailand. The pad thai is freshly fried & you can see the frying action live with bursts of fire (evidence of an amazing fried dish)!! For chilli lovers/haters, you can also customise the spiciness of your food by telling the staff when ordering. For those who love stronger & super local Thai flavours, I recommend ordering the papaya salad with salted crab (ส้มตำปูปลาร้า) & the papaya salad platter (ตำถาด) . The papaya salad with salted crab has more umami & a saltier flavour profile while the papaya salad platter features delicious side dishes like crispy pork belly (หมูทอด), Thai fish cakes (ทอดมันปลา) & a unique Thai fermented pork (แหนม). Both of these are not on the menu but they can cook it for you if ordered! Overall, my experience with the food & service here was superb, not to mention how the restaurant is conveniently located near berri-uqam station :)))
If you've been on the real Khao San road at least before 2012 or the Phi Phi & you've been disappointed in any Thai place you tried since, this is the place you gotta try. Amazing service, flavor, proper spice level (thai, not North American), proper wok hei... I've had papaya salad, basil stir fry with beef, Thai milk tea & mango sticky rice. Can't wait to go back.
