This is my favourite place in Chinatown. Food is great, prices are fantastic. It's always full. Staff are very friendly, & unlike other places, they discourage you from ordering too many plates. (Which I appreciate as my eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach)
I loved Keung Kee, an unadorned walk-up in Chinatown. We were the only Gweilo in the restaurant, guaranteeing authenticity. Don't expect fancy, but Keung Kee had AC, a pleasure in 94 degree weather. My shrimp in lobster sauce, around $17, was out of this world delicious. Singapore noodles was average according to my spouse, but Keung Kee is known for its seafood. Service was professional & pleased with my oohs & aahs. They were appreciative of my cash payment & my 20% tip.
Picked this Chinese place because it opens late & has very good rating. Indeed they made my first time visit felt welcoming. The take out order was efficiently done & all tasted quite good & reasonably priced especially after converting to US$. It is an upstairs restaurant, not to be confused with the downstairs one which has a different name.

Service was great & the food was even better. Great value. Highly recommended.

Disappointed & would not recommend. Server spilled hot tea on my wife's phone while she was washing up, food was all served without rice, which wasn't served until we were finished eating. Server was too busy toasting drinks with another table to bother checking on us so water was never refilled. The cook is overworked, he was apparently responsible for cooking & serving all dishes, as well & handling final payment on the table. I didn't leave a tip, he was quite upset & snatched up the fortune cookies that were left on the table & stormed away. Most of the food was pretty good & I would have gladly explained why I didn't tip had I been asked why, instead I felt threatened for not leaving a tip.
Classic Chinese dishes served at fair prices. This is not five star dining, nor does it try to be. Just solid decent food. You're getting what you pay for. If you're expecting overly attentive service, or fancy plating, or an uncrowded restaurant, you might want go somewhere else.
Giving it 3.5- was honestly overhyped by friends & family & when my husband & I went to try, it was mid. We liked one dish out of 5 we ordered. Okay to try, but surely not ones that you will crave for or keep wanting to come back for.
Lowkey, upstairs Chinese restaurant serving as a staple of Montreal's Chinatown. This place has some years behind it. All the details you'd find in your typical North American Chinese restaurant, from the tableware to the menu items. The lunch special is a spectacular deal. I wish they had the red chilli oil but they did have some chilli sauce to offer me. Love the complimentary tea.
