This bookshop is honestly the kind of place I'd dreamed of ever since I was young. The decor is so cozy & inviting & had some dark academia flair to it. The book selection feels tailored to my personal reading tastes, with their focus on speculative fiction & romance. Not to mention, a café bar right inside the bookstore? Absolute perfection. Being able to sip a fun cocktail & taking in the atmosphere, mulling over all the interesting titles we'd been browsing, was such a nice date activity. The staff is also very nice & friendly! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
Je pense que Montréal est maintenant une meilleure place simplement parce que cette librairie y existe désormais! Pénétrer chez Joie de livres, c'est comme entrer dans une de ces librairie dont on nous fait rêver dans les romans fantastiques, comme si on se retrouvait transporté dans un des livres fantasy que cette librairie•café•bar vous propose. C'est un de ces endroits qu'on voit sur Pinterest & qui nous font dire'j'aimerais donc ça qu'il y ait une telle boutique près de chez moi!'. Loin ou pas loin de chez vous, que ça soit pour prendre un bon cocktail, un café ou bouquiner, faites-vous une fleur & passer chez Joie de livres, bon moment assuré. ❤?
Je suis allée voir cette librairie aujourd'hui après l'avoir vu sur Instagram. Dire que j'ai aimé serait un understatement,j'ai vraiment adoré. La décoration est vraiment belle, la sélection de livres (surtout de romance).
J'ai pu jaser de monster romance avec Geoffroy qui m'as recommandé un fantasy romance. Il y avait des autrices que je n'ai jamais vu leurs livres en personne, & dire que j'étais contente était encore un understatement.
Sinon j'ai eu une autre suggestion notre dame de grâce d'une employée à la caisse & un autre employé avec qui ça a été un réel plaisir de parler de lectures.
J'ai trouvé ma librairie préférée à montréal & je vais revenir assurément! 💗💗💗

This is my new favorite place!! It's so gorgeous inside, cozy & welcoming. Amazing selection of books, plus a cafe/bar/snacks. We had cocktails, the charcuterie board, & the burger-inspired nachos & everything was delicious. I couldn't choose a book this time, but I picked up adorable stickers & a great magnet bookmark to replace my old fave that's being held together by tape. I will definitely be back!
Magnifique lieu. Service exemplaire. Rien à redire. J'ai l'impression d'avoir moi-même créé ce lieu tellement il est tout ce que je voudrais retrouver dans une librairie. Juste bravo.
We had a quick rest & coffee on the patio here, we were greeted very graciously as I was completely confused. As is known to happen around so many books. We had a lovely time on their patio with a delicious espresso tonic & a tea! Highly recommend for solo or quiet dates.

I was eager of Joie de Livres since the announcement of the project & I had the lovely pleasure of been invited for its pre opening. & since then, it's my favorite place in ton.
So many books, so many nice & smiling people, a staff more than willing to help you & take your order, & nice cocktails & chai latte.
This is everything I ever wanted.
Wine & books? Hell yes!
A nice selection of books to peruse or buy, as well as a nice selection of cocktails, wine, coffee & snacks to have while reading there.
Oh, & the decor is amazing!

Quelle belle expérience ! J'y ai été très bien conseillé sur la littérature de science fiction québécoise, que je connais fort mal, & j'y ai passé un bon moment en sirotant un bon thé. Allez les voir !
