I always try to visit a bookstore or two while on holiday & this was such a lovely one to spend an afternoon in on a rainy Montreal day. The variety of books is lovely as well as the atmosphere & employees.

Joie de Livres has fast become my favorite bookstore in Montreal. The staff is knowledgeable & eager to share their love of literature, the book selection is awesome (& what you can't find, they'll order), & their popcorn latte is delicious. It's actually reinvigorated my love of reading.

En voyage depuis la France, je suis passé dans cette librairie par hasard. J'y ai rencontré un lieu extrêmement chaleureux, une excellente sélection de livres autour des imaginaires, en particulier de science fiction. Reparti avec un ouvrage de Sabrina Calvo, & une discussion humainement si enrichissante avec l'une des libraires. L'équipe était formidable, merci de faire exister ce lieu à Montréal. Une adresse que je serai obligé de remettre sur mon chemin si je voyage à nouveau à Montreal. Merci !

Le gars(Lou je crois) qui a pris ma commande a été super sympa de m'aider à pratiquer mon français au moment de commander ! 😭 C'est tellement embarassant d'essayer d'apprendre une nouvelle langue alors j'apprécie vraiment sa gentillesse. & le chocolat chaud était délicieux! J'adore le fait qu'il n'y ait pas des tonnes de sucre, comme aux États-Unis.
