Great cozy place, nice ambiance, polite staff. They have a not-so-big menu, just enough to try everything each time you visit them. i guess its their signature dishes which is perfect for me since i don't like tons of choices to choose from. My choice which was the pork donburi (stir-fried pork, rice, fried kimchi on the side, miso soup) it was delicious! My friend had the fried pork cutlet with rice. Yuummy.... beautiful presentation as well. only downside was the parking obviously since its in downtown, gotta find your street parking or! there is a paying parking lot right next to it which was $10 (i think this is better option since street parking ads up really fast by the hour) As a korean reviewing a korean/japanese restaurant,I will definitely go back & try their other dishes!
** The reviews DOESN'T lie! ** It's honestly one of the best korean food that I've ate in Montreal. The appetizer rice cake was good...cripsy outside & chewy inside, sweet&salty & a little bit spicy at the same time. The Dak Galbi Dolsot bowl was flavourful, it came very hot too. The only''bad'' thing that I have to say is about the size of the restaurant: it's very small, cannot take a lot of people at the same time so if you don't reserve your place, you won't be able to enter or maybe you'll wait for a long time. Overall, I strongly recommend it!
One of my favourite Korean places in town !!! Everything is absolutely delicious & I can't wait to go back
Great place for some affordable Korean food. Their location is quite small so make sure you get there early during weekends. Food is good & tasty but you do feel a bit of pressure to leave as soon as you finish eating, which is fine if you just come for the food. Would definitely comeback & try different items on the menu.
I had the bulgogi dolsot. They don't give you any of those side dishes like the other Korean restaurants, the food would be more enjoyable with some kimchi or other side dishes to go with, it ends up to be a bit greasy without something fresh to cleanse your palette. & there is no crunchy crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl, a bit disappointing in that matter. Service is fast.
Very good korean restaurant in town. I love all the food I had ordered. They are all tasty.
Good korean restaurant in downtown. Menu is diversified & has something for every taste. Service is excellent. Eating space a bit small & crowded.
One of the best places for Korean & Japanese food. They do not cheap out on portions nor on quality. Service was fast (though it wasn't during peak hours), & staff is caring. They even gave us a bowl & 2 boxes for takeout. Would recommend!
🍽Food: 5/5 📍Place: 5/5 🤵Service: 5/5 💵Price: 5/5 Best bulgogi yaki udon in town! Great atmosphere & great Korean cuisine gives out a great night & an amazing experience. Totally recommended to anyone in love with Korean food
Nice place with decent food. Good prices & good portions. It's a bit loud during peak hours but otherwise a solid place. The Korean fried chicken & the Gyuu-don were good, but the chicken Katsu with cream is not great if you're used to the likes of Katsuya. Service is solid, they refill your water & don't disturb you with questions. Does get busy, call ahead for dinners.
Very good place for a quick Japanese/Korean fix!
The decor & vibe are quite nice.
The karage were nice & crispy but still moist inside (cooked to perfection) & the Chipotle sauce was *chefs kiss*. My go-to had always been the katsu & it never disappoints.
The udon bulgogi was a bit too salty for my liking & the tempura donburi was a bit bland. The highlight & my all time favorite has been the okonomiyaki. Very well made & tasted so good!
You won't believe the culinary delight we experienced at Jako, the ultimate Japanese-Korean fusion gem in Montreal! We dropped in for after party & were greeted by two delightful servers. & the manager? Talk about setting the perfect culinary hype tone!
The restaurant's ambiance was an exciting Korean culture & vibrant energy. Each item on the menu was a culinary masterpiece, Utterly impeccable! They pampered our group, making us feel like we were partying with dear pals. Seriously, this place is a gastronomic adventure not to be missed!
