Jacopo stands out in Old Montreal with a warm, stylish vibe and a menu that delivers Italian classics with bold, fresh flavors. Reviews highlight friendly, attentive service and knowledgeable wine suggestions, and the atmosphere ranges from cozy intimate dining upstairs to lively terrace evenings. The food is repeatedly praised for quality and flavor, from crisp bruschetta, burrata and calamari to seafood pastas, gnocchi and the signature cheese wheel pasta prepared at tableside, along with desserts like tiramisu and cannolis. The wine list and cocktails pair well with many dishes, helping meals feel special for a date, a celebration, or a group dinner. While some guests note that portions can be small or prices a bit high and a few service hiccups or noisy moments, the consensus is that Jacopo offers a memorable experience with generous hospitality and superb Italian cooking that keeps guests coming back.
The food was delicious! The calamari fritti was perfectly crispy & my linguine pescatore was perfect al dente with refreshing creamy lemon flavor. My husband got the pollo cacciatore; even though the chicken was a bit dry, the pasta in the dish was full of flavor like home made. Wanted to try the cheese wheel pasta but i'm a sucker for seafood linguine! Would go try it the next time for sure!
4 stars only because the noise level can get high when it's busy. Was having a hard time even talking to the server, who was doing a great job by the way!
We came here with my son & we wanted to have a little fancy dinner :) Service was very nice. We had a bottle of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio, a vibe I really like & calamari which was fantastic. Perfectly cooked. We loved my Linguini Pescatore & my son had Gnocchi. We both were pleased with our orders. I recommend this nice place to anyone who are ok to spend around $40-$50 per person for a nice dinne

Celebrated my wife's birthday here. The service was exceptional, & the food quality was outstanding. Very clear & distinct flavors in each dish. We tried the grilled calamari, caprese salad, cheese wheel pasta, & ragu. Special props to Laura who hosted us!
This was my third visit to Jacop. The ambience is great-it's a classic spot in the Old Port-but I've found myself underwhelmed each time I go.
This visit, we shared the bruschetta, carpaccio, & fried calamari, & I also tried a bit of their ravioli. The ravioli, which I've had twice now, continues to be really good.
The entrees, however, were just okay. The carpaccio was fine, but not exceptional-I'd say Darling's & Vandale's carpaccio are better. The fried calamari needed more salt, & the portion of tartare sauce they provided was stingy. The bruschetta was the biggest disappointment: no flavor whatsoever. I was expecting the same dish I had last winter, but the menu has changed completely-two sticks of bread topped with flavorless ricotta & whole cherry tomatoes. For a $16 appetizer, it felt extremely lazy.
Overall, everything was just okay & overpriced-classic Old Port restaurant vibes. There are definitely better options in the area.
I love this place. Average service. Great location good atmosphere gluten free options decent drinks good evening overall! Grilled calamari can be amazing!
We were fortunate to get an outdoor table without a reservation on a Sunday evening. Greeted with warm, welcoming smiles & seated right away under heat lamps that were perfect for the sunny but chilly evening. Not all restaurants in the area have heaters, & some had them but didn't turn them on. It was very nice to dine outdoors comfortably while enjoying the beautiful environment of Place Jacques Cartier which is so full of vibrant colors.
Maeva was the perfect server. Friendly & courteous, attentive & quite charming, she only enhanced our dining experience. The food was delicious. We had the calamari, focaccia bread, & burrata e prosciutto, all of which were very good. Then we had the spaghetti amatriciana & linguine pescatore, both of which were delicious & satisfying. The passion fruit mojito was good as well.
Overall, between the comfortable atmosphere, the wonderful service, & delicious food, you cannot go wrong dining here. We look forward to dining here again on our next visit to beautiful Montreal! Bon appetit!

We had a fantastic meal at Jacopo, a charming Italian restaurant in the heart of Old Montreal. From start to finish, everything was delicious & beautifully prepared.
We started with the fried calamari, & it was honestly some of the best we've ever had - perfectly crispy, tender, & full of flavor. For drinks, we enjoyed a refreshing glass of sangria & a Rose', both of which paired really well with the meal & added to the relaxed, lively ambiance.
For our mains, we had the pappardelle with lamb, spaghetti with pork - each one was cooked al dente & full of rich, bold flavors. The lamb pappardelle was especially memorable - tender meat, silky sauce, & pasta that tasted homemade. Everything tasted fresh & authentic, like a little trip to Italy. I wanna come back & try the pesto Pasta & other dishes!
Great place in Old Quebec (Place Jacques-Cartier). I ordered the chicken, it was not a good choice (This is just my opinion), but the tomato salad, fried calamari, the beef carpaccio, & everything else we ordered was great. Otherwise the our service was one of the best we ever had. Highly recommend this place.

Aurelia, our server, the ambiance of the square, was only rivalled by our excellent meal! Highly recommend. We sat outside on the terrace & had the grilled calamari, tomato salad, seafood pasta & more…all amazing suggestions by our server. Would go again!
Visiting from new york & we had the loviest experience here with Emilio! He explained the menu very well & kept our table up to par every few minutes, he even made sure my sister who has a shellfish allergy was okay with Calamari at the table. We thought we would struggle as we know zero french but he did amazing !! The ambiance of this restaurant is unmatched. We all had the cheese wheel which turned out delicious. With the size of my group & us only speaking english Emilio did a great job of keeping us informed !! Will definitely return when I'm back :)

Had a wonderful meal here to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had the linguine pescatore, which was delicious & my wife had margarita truffle ravioli which was even better! The grilled calamari was also very good, tho a bit spicy for my weak palate. They then bright over a complimentary tiramisu with a sparkler for her birthday! Highly recommend!
Food was delicious & the staff were friendly. We came around 2-3pm on a Wed. No wait time & we were seated right away. Had the seafood pasta & calamari. It was delicious. My cocktail was a bit pricey but good. The music was loud so keep that in mind if you're here for a date night. We had kids with us so weren't bothered.
Dinner was wonderful! The pastas & grilled calamari were great, & our waiter, Tristan, made our night! He was personable & offered some great advice for the rest of our trip. Will hopefully be back!
