Jacopo is widely celebrated for its delicious Italian cuisine, featuring standout dishes like the seafood linguine, truffle ravioli, and the unique table-side cheese wheel pasta. Guests frequently praise the warm, vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant, which perfectly captures the charm of Old Montreal, making it an ideal destination for both special occasions and casual dining. The service is consistently highlighted as a major strength, with many visitors noting that the staff is welcoming, professional, and attentive. While some guests have mentioned that the space can become quite lively and busy, the overall experience is defined by high-quality ingredients, beautiful presentation, and a genuine commitment to creating memorable moments for every party.
Very good atmosphere. It was a very nice place. My boyfriend & I made a reservation so when we got there, we didn't have to wait. The food & drink we ordered were delicious. We both ordered pasta & loved it. We went mostly because we wanted to do the cheese wheel but we were told when we got there that's only from Sunday-Thursday, which is understandable because we went on a busy Friday night.
The waitress was really nice, but I should mention that when we were about to pay, we noticed that they were charging us for things we didn't order. I noticed it & brought it up to her, & she said they got our receipt mixed up with the table next to us. I didn't mind it, but if we hadn't noticed our receipt we were gonna be paying for somebody's stuff so just something they should be more careful with.
Dugan & Cat did a fantastic job serving us on our visit to Montreal! He was positive, helpful & overall made our experience excellent. Highly recommend this spot for food & drink.
I expected much better with the incredibly high reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. It took incredibly long to order, & our server completely forgot about our drinks - we were not brought our drinks until our food was finished, & the food was not that good. It was extremely expensive, yet the taste did not reflect that. Then, even after that our bill took 20-30 minutes to reach us after we were finished our food…. not to mention, the lights were way too dim & payment was not easy to navigate. I expected much better for such a highly acclaimed restaurant.

We had brunch here twice during a two week stay in Montreal. The bottle of champagne + juice for mimosas was a good deal, as long as you have the time & interest in 1 bottle for each person in your party. We loved it. We were not rushed & were able to leisurely drink mimosas, people watch, & while away a Sunday in a beautiful place. The food as well was excellent - the avocado salmon toast was delicious & tiramisu French toast was decadent. Sit along the rail & enjoy a slow lovely brunch @ Jacopo.
Food was great & very reasonably priced. Super busy place. The service was lacking though. Took quite a while to get our drinks. It was like our server just disappeared, Served our food & we never saw him the rest of the night. Forgot to bring our our desserts, which they did comp us for, wich we did appreciate. Would definately go back though.
I loved Angie! Such a 10/10 waitress, she was so lovely & welcoming our party of 5 had a blast with her. The food was good, the drinks were Perfect, she kept it up with us.
I had high expectations for Jacopo, but unfortunately the experience fell short in a major way. The food itself was decent-around a 7/10. It wasn't bad by any means, but it also didn't stand out enough to make up for everything else.
The real issue was the service, which was extremely disappointing. From the moment we were seated, we were barely acknowledged. No one checked in on us throughout the meal-not once. We weren't asked how the food was, if we needed anything, or even offered basics like grated cheese for our dishes.
When we finished, no one came by to ask if we wanted dessert or another round of drinks.
What made it more frustrating was that we could clearly see other tables being attended to regularly.
Servers were checking in, chatting, & providing attentive service to other guests, while we were essentially ignored. It felt dismissive & honestly uncomfortable.
Good service is just as important as good food, & this experience lacked it entirely. I wouldn't return or recommend Jacopo based on how we were treated.
Came for my birthday & was not disappointed. The cocktails were fantastic- I asked for a lavender lemon drop & it was the best drink of the trip. For the entree, it was the truffle ravioli. The sauce was so creamy & balanced. Would definitely return
The experience was not great. The food was just okay, nothing special, & they didn't even have the parmesan pasta we specifically went for. We arrived about 30 minutes late because parking in the area is quite complicated, & the hostess told us to come back over an hour later. What made it worse was that she didn't even allow us to wait at the bar & have a drink, her attitude was very strict & not friendly at all when explaining this.
On top of that, it's quite expensive for what they offer. It was my birthday, & I ended up feeling very disappointed. I don't plan on coming back.
