Jacopo stands out in Old Montreal with a warm, stylish vibe and a menu that delivers Italian classics with bold, fresh flavors. Reviews highlight friendly, attentive service and knowledgeable wine suggestions, and the atmosphere ranges from cozy intimate dining upstairs to lively terrace evenings. The food is repeatedly praised for quality and flavor, from crisp bruschetta, burrata and calamari to seafood pastas, gnocchi and the signature cheese wheel pasta prepared at tableside, along with desserts like tiramisu and cannolis. The wine list and cocktails pair well with many dishes, helping meals feel special for a date, a celebration, or a group dinner. While some guests note that portions can be small or prices a bit high and a few service hiccups or noisy moments, the consensus is that Jacopo offers a memorable experience with generous hospitality and superb Italian cooking that keeps guests coming back.
Amazing food, amazing service, & great atmosphere. What a gem of a place. We had seafood Rissoto, Seafood pasta, & stuffed pasta Margherita Al tartufo, & loved it all. We're picky since we make our own pasta, sauces & Rissoto at home but this place was a special treat. Wine selection was delicious. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious! The calamari fritti was perfectly crispy & my linguine pescatore was perfect al dente with refreshing creamy lemon flavor. My husband got the pollo cacciatore; even though the chicken was a bit dry, the pasta in the dish was full of flavor like home made. Wanted to try the cheese wheel pasta but i'm a sucker for seafood linguine! Would go try it the next time for sure!
4 stars only because the noise level can get high when it's busy. Was having a hard time even talking to the server, who was doing a great job by the way!
We went here last Friday & had a yummy dinner. I love Italian food. This place had several options. We had a reservation a week ago because we knew it would be crowded. The location is great, right by the water. The service was good, could have been better, The food was great! I had the mushroom pasta & loved it. Good atmosphere with nice music.
Just a perfect meal all around. Started with the focaccia, had the short rib & one of the tomato pastas & a tiramisu & espresso for dessert no notes. The short rib was the highlight truly one of the most flavourful dishes eve
The ambiance of the place was very nice. We received very good & attentive service, plus everything was delicious.
We ordered the lavender & peach mocktails which were excellent.
The bruschetta started was also very good.
& the two mains: mushroom gnochhis, & braised lamb tomato sauce pasta were both excellent.
Jacopo is a really nice restaurant, even though I completely forgot the name of the dish I ordered. Honestly, the name didn't matter much in the end because the sauce was absolutely amazing. It was rich, flavorful, & easily the highlight of the dish. I actually found myself wishing there was more pasta on the plate just so I could enjoy the sauce a little longer. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly - not too soft, not too firm - exactly how pasta should be.
The chicken that came with the dish was also good & well prepared, & the appetizer we ordered was enjoyable as well. Everything tasted fresh & thoughtfully made, which made the meal feel a bit more special than a standard restaurant experience.
At one point, we asked for bread so we could soak up the rest of the sauce left on our plates. They do have bread, but it's not something they automatically serve, & you have to ask for it. There was a bit of miscommunication around that, & when the bread did arrive, it honestly wasn't the greatest. Still, it wasn't a big issue & didn't take away too much from the overall experience.
This visit actually made me want to try a lot more pasta places. It felt like I've been missing out on really good pasta all this time. Overall, Jacopo left a strong impression, & I'd definitely be open to coming back & exploring more of their menu.

I went here on my one year anniversary with my girlfriend last night & was immediately impressed by the professionalism from our server Bastien Raine. If our drink was below level, he was quick to offer a refill. Brought everything out in a timely fashion as well.
We both got the cheese wheel with chicken & it was absolutely fantastic. Some of the best pasta I have had in years, the chicken, cooked to perfection & seasoned gracefully.
To cap it off, Bastien offered both of us a glass of champagne on the house to celebrate. I wish I could have tipped more than I did because everything was flawless. I will be telling everyone to come over to Jacopo!
Delicious Italian food, it is quite rich & creamy. My husband & I ordered our own pastas but were unable to finish. Arancinis were stellar. Overall, enjoyed each dish. Bonus stars because the vibes were the right amount of cozy on a snowy evening, & boujee.
After the reviews l went there with high expectations however it was just above an average pasta nothing special. It was a boring taste. Also our pasta came after an hour & cold. Wont be there again for sure - pretty disappointed…
The food was good overall, however, the cheese wheel pasta was overpriced, as the truffle flavor wasn't very pronounced. Also, the waiter mentioned that the cheese wheel presentation wasn't available because it was the festive season, which was a turn-off.

Food was be very good, but went specifically for the pasta cheese wheel special & were told it was too busy so there was no presentation. We were disappointed as part of the appeal of the pasta is seeing them mix it in the cheese wheel. A lot of people around us also came for this pasta, so something to consider for future guests
Celebrated my wife's birthday here. The service was exceptional, & the food quality was outstanding. Very clear & distinct flavors in each dish. We tried the grilled calamari, caprese salad, cheese wheel pasta, & ragu. Special props to Laura who hosted us!

We visited Jacopo to celebrate my sister's birthday. There were four of us. The atmosphere was super bohemian & elegant, perfect for a special occasion. The staff suggested a delicious red wine as a starter, followed by spectacular pasta, & not to mention the spectacular serving of the signature dish! Wow, I would go back a thousand times! I would love to!🥳🤩🤩🤩
A popular & busy Italian spot with a great selections of pasta. They're sangrias paired well with the Panzanella. I got the Spaghetti Amatriciana, which had a good level of spiciness that was not too hot or weak. Also dined outside & got to see a street performer juggle flaming sticks.
