Picture a nightclub that serves fabulous contemporary Indian dishes. Place was hopping. DJ'd music was dominant but not too loud. Great experience.View more
The ambience was good but too loud on the music part cudnt talk much. The food is great, & the service is a bit slow as it gets busy, so be prepared to wait a bit until you get seen . Over all amazing experience.View more
We really enjoyed our meal here & the service was good. Great flavours & very tolerable spice level (for those concerned). Photo worthy food & drink presentation too. It's a bit pricey for what you get but such is downtown Montreal.
My only complaint is that it's so so so loud when it's busy you have to shout to hear your table. Not because of the music but because it's such a big open space with nothing to break up the sound. Just something to be aware of for a date night or catch up with friends, chatting was difficult.View more
I loved it, food was delicious, not spicy (how I like it), very flavourful & great portions. It is a little overpriced but everything is overpriced nowadays. Restaurant was clean, big & spacious & the service was excellent. I would just add a little bit more ambiance with the music but I would recommend to anyone who likes or want to try indian food. I will definitely go back & try different things on the menu, everything looked delicious.View more
Positive experience. This time around the music was lowered to a decent level so that we could converse. Food was delicious (chicken tandoori & lamb chops with garlic nan. Would pass on the lentil soup). The cardamom creme brûlée for dessert was wonderful. Recommended.View more
everything was great, but the music was way too loud!View more
Sorry we won't be going back. Music was too loud. We prefer quieter restaurants,View more
Surrounding sound, street, music audio, below average quality.View more
The food is very good but the aggressive & loud nightclub music especially during weekend brunch times really makes the experience a lot less enjoyable than it could be.View more
This place has such a great vibe. The food was delicious as it looked. I love the music & the atmosphere they created!View more
The food was incredible, chicken tandorri was so juicy & bouncy XD! The waitress was super kind & was not overbearing. Music was a bit loud at time but not overwhelming & good ambianceView more
We got the mushroom paneer & seekh kebab as appetizers, & for the main courses, we had garlic naan, malai kofta, & pepper paneer. All the dishes were very well made, & the presentation was exquisite. The service was also excellent. The DJ was doing a great job with the music. Highly recommend!View more
Great vibe, music, service, cocktails & food! Nothing negative to say! Will return soon!View more
Great food & decor. The music was too loud for 7pm we couldn't hear each other.View more
I loved it here the food was spicy & delicious. Only music was too loud we were shouting to speak if you wanna get together to speak with your friends you have to shout. The service was good. & the staff were nice.View more
Everything was perfect including food & service. Music was too loud though for a family style dinner, we couldn't have a proper conversation with our friends.
Overall our group enjoyed the food but for 75$ per person, very limited. Some table did not receive & rice & when the main's came, like the butter chicken, it was really calculated. Our server Emanuelle was exceptional!
& the main complaint from our group was that the music was too loud! People couldn't have a decent conversation.
I came here on a date. Obviously the first thing I did was read the 1 star reviews. I'm not gonna lie I was worried after I read them & the owners responses to some them. But having worked in the restaurant business for almost 10 years I know the game & I know how some clients can be. I also want to mention that I am half South Asian so I am very familiar with the dishes & the flavors as I ate this food growing up & still eat it at home. That being said let me get started with the review.
I'll mention that I rounded up to a 5. My actual rating is a 4.7 which is still phenomenal.
The ambience was great. The layout & decor of the restaurant is very nice. The bar looks fantastic. The bathrooms are pretty cool as well with the giraffes on the wall. The music was a tad bit loud. But not enough that it hindered my night. But be prepared to speak loudly & confidently if you don't naturally. Tbh I prefer the music on the louder side as I don't want to hear the tables next to me which I couldn't.
The service was excellent. I had a reservation & I was on time. My table was ready & we were sat right away by the hostesses.
We had the pleasure of having Adam as our server. He was quick to serve us our water & explained the drink menu to my date which I appreciated as it was our first time. He gave us time to look over the menu & he came back to take our order for our drinks. My date tried one of their cocktails which she enjoyed. The drinks came fairly quick. Adam was also back to take our order fairly quick. Luckily for him he didn't have to explain the food to me. I knew what I wanted. Adam was a good sport & we cracked a couple jokes together. For appetizers we order the samosas which were great & the sauce that comes with is excellent. They are a bit small & 1 order gives you 3, which is an odd number to split. They came fairly quick as well. For the main course we had the butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, & the Chana masala. I ordered 2 sides of rice which were well portioned. I also ordered 4 garlic naans. The food came in a reasonable time frame. butter chicken was fantastic one of my favorite dishes & this one is up there for sure. The sauce was spot on for the taste of butter chicken. The chicken Tikka masala was also great. South Asians can use a lot of spices & some times make food excessively spicy my family is guilty of that for sure. This chicken Tikka masala was spicy enough but not over bearing (to cater to them white folks no doubt). The chana masala was also very good same critique as the Tikka masala spicy but not over bearing. The only thing for me that I thought could be a bit better was the garlic Naan. For me personally I like my Naan a bit more crisp. The Naan I had was more on the softer side. The taste was great but just a personal preference for me I guess, but imo the Naan should be a bit more crisp. During my meal I wanted to order more samosas. Adam was frequently in his section so it was easy for me to get his attention & tell him to bring another order of samosas. Which, again, came fairly quick. My date is not a big eater so I did have to take things to go. Adam was very quick to pack up my leftovers. We also ordered gulab jamuns for desserts which arrived perfectly. They were warm & w/ just the right amount of syrup. Adam knows the game so he brought me the check without me having to ask him. As soon as he saw my card sticking out of the check presenter Adam promptly got the interac machine. I hope he enjoyed his tip because I enjoyed his service so thanks again Adam!
Overall this is a great place to check out. We had a great time. Don't get scared by the unfair reviews. I have come to the conclusion that those clients were probably not the best & are most likely frequent complainers. You really can't please some people & some people should probably just stay at home tbh. It is a bit on the pricey side but you should know this going in. I would say it is worth to check out. Had a great night thanks again!
Once Again , great food & service.. once again , the music too loud....
The music was too loud, unable to speak to someone sitting across the table. Maybe the DJ started too early. We were dining at 7pm & it was a nightclub ambiance. Also, there is not enough light in the dinning room, we noticed that guest at many tables had to use the flashlight on their phones to see the menu. Food & service was exceptional but having the room ambiance adjusted would have been a perfect experience.
The music was very nice & definitely should be maintained, but it was a bit too loud. We had to shout to talk to each other. Since the place is more a restaurant than a pub, the music should be a little bit quieter to enable easy conversation.
Music un peu forte & difficile de trouver du stationnement a moins de payer 20$ pour un sous terrain ! Mais expérience globale est super je suis allée souvent déjeuner à celui sur mont-royal.. la nourriture est vraiment bonne !
