Me & my bestie came here for the Umeshu (Japanese Plum Wine), but it was delish! Atmosphere was packed on Wednesday, Dec 17, 2025, so better RSVP in advanced. Food was fresh & fragrant but I loved the Chestnut Tiramisu. It's about 10-20$ per food ordered, so I highly recommend coming here on a date, wedding celebration, or with friends. For food, it's best to share unless you're here for the ramen. Our order took a long time so the waitress offered us her own special shots drink, not pictured. (I ordered the cold takowasa, karaage, edamame, & tiramisu of the month which was chestnut. My friend ordered takoyaki & mochi doughnuts).

Excited to eat here but disappointing. I'd recommend skipping this restaurant. I've lived in Japan & eaten tons of ramen. My wife is Japanese. This is not authentic or what you want if you are looking for anything authentic. Not sure how they got a Michelin Star rating or why people would wait 30-45mins to eat here. Service was not so great. Food overpriced. Server asked us to wait in the basement near the bathrooms until a table was ready??? Should have left at that point. We ordered karaage which was the best part of our meal. It was well done but normal quality you find at any Japanese restaurant. However it was brought to our table with no plates. Had to request them. Server barely came to our table. Ramen was no where near the quality of real Japanese ramen. Chashu was diced which is weird & broth was not delicious or salty enough. Thin noodles were too thin & thick normal noodles you usually get for most ramen. Teriyaki was yummy but not salty enough. Overall disappointed with our eating experience here. Check came out to $85 which we thought was crazy high for the level of service & quality of ramen.

Nice authentic Japanese food. Loved the vibes, great for young people. Not very accessible for non-abled or hearing impaired people. Will be coming back.

A hidden gem with a warm, stylish ambiance in Quebec City ; every dish bursts with authentic Japanese flavour , worth to have a try for izakaya lovers.

A good selection of Japanese food. But did not really enjoy the ramen, the meat was too greasy. & for tapas, the price is a bit too high for the quantity. The waiting time is way too long.

Je l'ai surnommé Japanese Pacini. La cuisine fusion peut être intéressante, mais pas celle-ci. Ça faisait tourist trap & c'était trop cher. Mon chum & moi on a payé 50$+ chaque pis on a encore faim.

Jon Batiste, Toronto/Montreal, Uneasy Tour Road Trip Food Stop #3: Pre Concert Meal Montreal! Yes! I was on an 1100 mile (look I'm an American & I don't do Metric...) round trip loop starting & ending in Hartland, Vermont & spending one night with dinner & lunch outings, in Montreal. Pretty sure I've been in Montreal before. But also pretty sure it was so long ago I cannot pinpoint what decade that might have been...LOL I love a road tip tho. & I do spend some time planning out every move I make, most importantly my meals. Two things: I want to know where I'm going to eat & I do not want to "waste" time/money/calories on a meal with no forethought or a seriously disappointing meal. So I spent some time on Yelp browsing Montreal restaurants & I focused on Asian cuisine, because that's my jam. The restaurant scene in Montreal seemed a little strange, but there were Japanese options & I was actually kind of excited when I found Ichigo Ichie. I mean Japanese Pub Seemed like a genius idea. Spoiler Alert: It Is! I am that person who not only plans where I am going to eat, I also plan my actual meal. I review menus, I make preliminary item choices. I don't eat beef, pork or poultry, so some level of planning is always required. Particularly if I'm going to eat somewhere that identifies as a "Pub." Pubs are not necessarily known for their embrace of "meatless." You know? I read online menus for Ichigo Ichie & there were actually some things I really wanted to try. Plus they had small plates. Which is my jam. I always want to try as many different things as I can when I eat out & I'm that friend who is so commitment phobic I can't even commit to an entree for dinner. No. Really. Let me graze & snack! It looked promising at Ichigo Ichie. I drove from Toronto to Montreal & found parking right on the street on the same block (which I'm thinking might not be unusual for Canadians/Quebecois, but was kind of shocking for me!). I arrived shortly after they opened & was able to get a seat at the bar. There are multiple dining rooms & levels here & I feel like the lower Ramen spaces is probably amazing. There was no way I could eat a bowl of Ramen pre-concert & with Hot Flashes...but that situation looked TOP NOTCH. Take the whole "pub thing" seriously folks. I feel like I did not & this spot FILLED UP & became insanely loud. Which, if I'm saying it was loud, means probably unbearable for most everyone else. Service was good, but everyone got to where they were RUNNING because it was crazy. LOL Sake list is limited, but pretty good. Much better than most places. So my dining experience was sort of evenly split between being disappointed because I'd somehow ordered a dish with flavors I work with at my own spot every day (I want completely different flavors when I'm eating out) & meh Age Dashi Tofu to being SUPER INTO an amazing damn Daikon Salad (I. LOVE. Salads. Most especially when someone else makes them for me & they are intricate & have complex flavors & an interesting variety of ingredients) & the most delicious & satisfying Udon Carbonara (which they made meatless for me!). Not gonna lie. That Udon Carbonara had my attention all the way from Vermont before I ever got in the car to start that 1100 mile loop & it did NOT disappoint. Some delicious stuff happening here. Also staff is fully bilingual. But this is a local spot in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Which is the kind of place you WANT to be going to! Genius concept. Excellent execution. Great Local Vibes. Next Time: Ramen!

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant during the Montreal à Table event & it was a delightful experience! Our highlight was undoubtedly the first course, "Guy tartare" - a culinary marvel where the flavors blended seamlessly, creating a memorable start. The second course, "salmon confit with fennel", was perfectly cooked but pretty bland to our taste. However, the meal picked up again with the creamy & flavorful "mushroom mazemen". The restaurant's popularity was clear, with a line outside even at 5pm. Definitely a place I'd recommend to friends.

Excellent service & very kind waitress. Very nice atmosphere, love the decor. Also, the Japanese plum wine is very good. I took the ramen noodles with chicken broth & vegetables. The broth is rich & flavourful. The presentation is very nice as well.

It was my 1st time eating at Ichigo Ichie. It was my birthday & my little sister wanted to treat me to a nice Japanese dinner. I love the ambiance at Ichigo Ichie, the decor is so beautiful. The waiter is courteous & knowledgeable. He took time to answer our questions about the menu & explain to us certain things. The food was awesome. For sure I will come back with my friends.

Japanese izakaya dishes with wafu inspired nuanced & delicate flavours. I'd recommend staying with the more traditional Japanese dishes as some of the fusion dishes don't always live up to their menu description. One of my go to restaurants in Montreal.

Loved this place. This is my absolute Japanese restaurant in Montreal. The food is always fantastic & no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal.

Can't wait to return & wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for something special.

Ichigo Ichie Izakaya is an exceptional restaurant ... a neighbourhood gem that many people might walk past if they didn't notice the frequent long lines of those waiting to get in. The Japanese tapas sharing menu is varied & exciting & supplanted by chef's specials. The restaurant can be a bit noisy, so not the best place for a quiet romantic dinner, but if you enjoy spirited conversation & laughter, this is your place.
