Why the best Bahn Mi? No cucumbers in their baguette sandwiches, made fresh , perfectly priced cheaper than their competitors on the island, go ahead & pay 10$ for an over rated Bahn mi elsewhere, it's just stupid in my opinion.
Generous portion on a very nice fresh crispy bread. Bbq Pork is delicious, condiments are crunchy & tasty. Price is very low & service friendly, highly recommended! To go only, cash only - no card fees for the business: better price for customers :)
Almost 5 years haven't gone to this place... Parking is easier, the street is dead compared to 5-10 years ago. The food didn't taste as good, it's bland... The carrots & daikon are not as crisp doesn't give off the kick needed, shy on cilantro, couldn't taste the pork liver pate. The bread was chewy even though they toasted it,it was still mushy. It's alright as a sandwich for the price. But a bit disappointing. It used to be the best banhmi around for an unbeatable price...now it tastes like a supermarket banhmi.
Best vietnamese sandwiches in the area & priced well - 7$ for the chicken banh mi. Thank you for being consistently good for over 20 years.
This place has great banh mi for a reasonable price. The nem chua sandwich was delicious & the service was very friendly.
Great little shop in Chinatown selling various authentic homemade Vietnamese snacks/food, things you don't always find in groceries or restaurants. The price is taxes included & very reasonable (or maybe the cheapest!) compared to other places. They also have a Vietnamese sandwich "banh mi" counter making it fresh when you order, also very good. They have a stamp card where you get a free sandwich after buying 10. There's no place to sit here so just for takeout. There's another Hoang Oanh sandwich on St-Denis same chain but different owner. Both are great, totally recommend.
Originally coming from a city with a significant Vietnamese population – I am well-versed on what an authentic Banh Mi should be like. This is without doubt the best Banh Mi I have found in Montreal thus far. Hours are short so this is a lunch stop. Once I walked in I saw everything I had to see to have confidence in the authenticity of this sandwich. Baguettes were fresh & not crumbly. They used the right type of pate, a detail other Banh Mi places are happy to skip. They actually used daikon as well which you don’t find commonly but I really enjoyed how it beefed up the volume of the sandwich. A dash of sauce would have been nice but overall the flavours were superbly balanced. Price point was right as well.
