Greenspot se présente comme un bistrot montréalais par excellence, reconnu pour ses sandwichs smoked meat et sa poutine légendaire, des portions généreuses, un service rapide et sympathique et une ambiance rétro qui donne l'impression d'etre chez soi, avec des prix raisonnables et une cuisine réconfortante; bien que quelques critiques portent sur la constance de la poutine ou sur le service, l'impression générale est celle d'une institution où l'on revient pour une expérience simple et authentique.
I took a friend there last night. He ordered spaghetti & meat sauce. He told me there was a lot more meat sauce than spaghetti. I mentioned it to the waiter, he offered to bring more spaghetti. He did & we said thank you. Lo & behold there's an extra charge on the bill.
The waiter did not mention there would be an extra charge, asked him to remove it. Came back, gave me the same bill. I asked to see the manager. He came over & suggested that my friend was lucky, that they probably put extra sauce so it only looked like not enough spaghetti. I informed him that I'm not paying extra, because the waiter never mentioned about extra charge. So after the blah blah, they removed the charge
Hey, I'm not saying that the customer is always right, but in this case I thought the situation was ridiculous. No desire to return to this joint. They have a lot of customers, so I guess they don't care if they turn some off every now & then with their pettiness.
Great example of a local casse-croûte. The place is clean & more inviting than your typical late night food joint. Service is quick.
I can't comment on all their food, but their poutine is one of the best in town. Dark flavorful gravy, good cheese ratio, solid fries. The base poutine is solid, but the more loaded ones are where Greenspot shines.
A Montreal institution, don't hesitate to visit.

Viande fumée qui fond dans la bouche & bonnes frites maison . Serveuses avenantes & décors d'antan vraiment sympathique & dépaysant ! La musique était un peu intense ce midi-là (forte & speedy) mais le gérant a accepté de baisser le son le temps que la séquence hard rock soit terminée!
Le restaurant est resté bloqué dans le temps & c'est ce qui fait son charme ! Meme si ça reste un peu bruyant, le service était très agréable !
Nous avons apprécié notre visite !
La poutine était une des meilleures que j'ai mangé jusqu'à présent 😊
Dining here makes you feel like you're going back in time. Atmosphere was pleasant & service was good. I'm a Montrealer & I've tried many poutines & I was so disappointed by the poutine here. The gravy was way too dark & thick & the cheese wasn't even slightly melted. Never again. The sub however was excellent but I don't recommend their poutines.
Best dive resto around. Want eggs at 1am? You got it. Poutine for breakfast? Sure thing. Love the pickles here, always get a plate. Atmosphere is retro but calm. Great music, better staff!
Tomber par hasard ! Le green spot nous a donner envie de tout goûter ! Malheureusement nos estomacs sont trop petits , nous sommes alors dans l'obligation de revenir !
Got the smoked meat sandwich & the grilled salmon. There's 2 for the price of 1 on beer 🍻 during happy hours. The food was amazing ! Will be back again.
What was once a go-to spot for me, is now off my regular rotation. The food hasn't changed, but some items on the menu have just outpriced their value.
Been coming to this spot my whole life in MTL !! I'm a regular here the food is always the same definitely the best spot in that area for burgers & hot dogs breakfast is always good & prices stay low unlike other spots!

Great service & food. Went here for breakfast with friends visiting from out of town. They loved the experience & the poutine they got with bacon, sausage was great.
Food was better than what you'd get from la belle province. Nice retro vibe. Staff is nice. I'd go again. Would be even better if they offered fancy milkshakes
