Greenspots a Institution of Casse-Croûtery
Honestly as good as any casse-croûte/deli I've had over the year, these guys have been doing it up for almost 80 years strong & still killing it. We love @greenspot1947 so much they catered our midnight meal for our wedding. Truth be told I order wayyyyy to many steamies, but they were delicious, so worth it the rest we gave out late at night to the homeless 😉.
They have it all from traditional classics like the smokemeat sandwich & poutine, to souvlaki plates, pizzas & Pasta, they got something for each craving honestly. Nice spot that the decor hasn't changed in years & god whiling they keep it that way. It adds to the charm & history of a place like this!
Très bon restaurant à saint henri & très bon endroit
Super belle expérience! Service rapide, staff super sympathique pis la bouffe était excellente. Tout était frais pis plein de saveur. J'vais certain revenir! 👌
Déçu nourriture pas comme nous avons demandé!!!
Oubliger de ce levé pour avoir droit à un autre café!
I love this restaurant, but my visit this past Tuesday evening was very disappointing.
I waited to be seated, as per the sign at the door. I waited patiently, while the server walked by & saw me. Another couple came in behind me & also waited to be seated.
It was not busy & there were two servers on the floor that could have greeted us at any point.
It took me finally walking up to the cashier handling take-out & asking to be seated, to then have the server tell the cashier that we can sit anywhere.
Once seated, I heard the server complain about all the tables being seated in her section - this makes no sense because she just told us to sit anywhere, after ignoring us at the door?
I got my order in & proceeded to watch the other couple wait & wait to order with the same server. They had to call the restaurant while at their table, to get a hold of the cashier, which then prompted the server to announce she was on her way over.
The whole experience was off putting & made me feel like a burden, I can't imagine how the other table felt.
The food, ambience, & staff are overall great & I will be back, just really disappointed with my experience & felt like I shouldn't have been there at all.
The food & service here was wonderful, the lady who serviced us was extremely friendly.
I felt unfortunately pushed to write this in the review hoping that the managing staff will see this as our experience was ruined by the tall, blonde young man working there who was having an extremely disgusting & sexually inappropriate conversation about women with a friend who was waiting for him to finish his shift. A huge lack of awareness to all of the uncomfortable patrons around the pair, I did not intervene whilst we were there but instead decided to leave & write this hoping that it will be escalated appropriately. In 2025 it is not okay to have these conversations, especially in the work place.
What I loved best about this restaurant is that four of the waiters joined together & sang happy birthday to my husband! They put a candle in the delicious coconut cream pie!
We had cycled to Parc Jean Drapeau & thoroughly enjoyed the Fleuralies exhibit- we popped in here for an impromptu lunch.
The place was full! It was lively & noisy.
I had the vegetarian souvlaki which was very good (Yiasou on Queen Mary is a touch better).
The Birthday 🎂 Boy & our daughter both enjoyed the souvlaki plates.
The coleslaw was a bit too vinegary & it would've been better with carrots.
The waiters were young & worked hard!
The restaurant has been around for almost 80 years so that says something…..A casual place with good honest food & it has heart.
Old fashioned dinner just the way we love it. Decent food for the price!
A classic diner. Gets quite busy. Must try - its been around for years! Open late, decent price.
A North American style diner restaurant. As if Woolworth counter married a Coney Island. Food & portions taste great, & the prices were just right. Service was fast & friendly, too. Located just 100 feet from Atwater Market & the Lachine Canal.
I eat here often. Breakfast is always good & the service is top notch even though there aren't many waitresses working anymore.
