Foodine offers an impressive array of vegetarian options, but their Gujarati thali stole the show for me. The dishes were incredibly flavorful, from the sweet & spicy dal to the perfectly spiced Shaaks. The unlimited thali ensures you get a bit of everything, & the variety is outstanding. with the buttermilk & Aam Ras satisfying the tummy giving a fairy tale bliss to the unlimited thaal. Whether you're craving comfort food or something more indulgent, this place has you covered. Their street food options, like bhel & chaat, are also top-notch! Moreover i would highly recommend their rotis, rotla, began bharta, sev tameta, undhiyu puri, khichdi & Kadhi (they are top notch)! & also the combo of Indian masala tea & Theplas is must try!
Staff is so welcoming & ready too help you with smile. For sure will come back . Best Indian food in Montreal! Tried their Chinese too & was awesome, quality & taste was good, & quantity was justified against price! When in Montreal try this hidden gem♥?!!!
We have tried both the Thali's. Both of them are worth eating. 2 of the curries out of all are okay but other food has countered them & overall experience is nice.
Everything is unlimited except buttermilk & fryams. Buttermilk is so nice & I wish it is also unlimited:)
The food was absolutely delicious, had an unlimited surati gujarati thali & it was worth every penny. Must try when here!!
We were quite disappointed with the overall service experience. Despite the meal being advertised as unlimited, we were repeatedly asked how many rotis we wanted-even after being told to wait three times. It felt more like a rationed meal than an unlimited one. One staff member even mentioned we should request items five minutes in advance, which made the whole experience feel rushed & uncomfortable.
We traveled from Ontario & can confidently say this kind of'unlimited' system wouldn't be acceptable there. We waited nearly 20 minutes for an undhiyu refill, by which time some of us had already finished eating. To add to the frustration, the customer service was impolite & dismissive.
That said, the food itself had some highlights-sev tameta & odo were excellent. However, the dal & other curries were served cold & lacked flavor.
At $22 per person, the experience simply didn't match the value. Unfortunately, it fell well below average in terms of both service & overall satisfaction.
We visited this restaurant today & had such a satisfying experience! We ordered the Masala Chai, Surati Thali, & Kathiyawadi Thali-& both thalis came with unlimited refills, which made it great value for the price (around $22 per thali).
Between the two thalis, we got to enjoy 8-10 different curries, along with poori, roti, & bajra roti-all freshly made & flavorful. Everything tasted homely & authentic, but a few items truly stood out for me:
• Aamras
• Undhiyu
• Kadhai Paneer
If you're craving real Gujarati or Kathiyawadi flavors, this place is absolutely worth a visit!
Forgot to ask servers name
He was very nice & polite
I had once ordered an unlimited vegetable thali at this place. Since my friends & I had ordered different dishes, we simply shared small bites to taste each other's food - nothing excessive or inappropriate. Midway through our meal, a staff member came up & firmly told us not to share. I found this approach quite rude & unprofessional.
If sharing is not allowed with an unlimited meal, it should be clearly stated upfront - either while ordering or displayed somewhere visible - not suddenly enforced while customers are eating. That said, the food itself was genuinely good & enjoyable.
However, the lack of empathy & poor customer communication left a bad taste. I wouldn't recommend this place for dine-in, but if you're ordering for home & want to enjoy the food without being monitored, it's definitely worth it.
Foodine Restaurant is one of my top choices whenever I'm craving authentic Kathiyawadi & Indian street food. The staff is always friendly & welcoming, & I appreciate that it's a purely vegetarian establishment without compromising on flavor. Their unlimited Surti thali is a personal favorite, & the mango ras is a must-try-it's absolutely delicious. I recently tried their Handvo & Dabeli & indo chinese items, & I was thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal! Bring your friends & family & enjoy delicious meal.
Love the unlimited Surati & Kathiawadi Thali. Delicious food made with fresh ingredients.
Excellent service! Super delicious authentic Gujrati food. Undhiyu & bhatru are the show stoppers! Weekend unlimited thali is the best deal around!
Best place to eat authentic gujju food & I love their unlimited thali
Excellent Gujarati food! The weekend unlimited thalis are delicious. The sev khamani is excellent. The best bhindi I've ever tasted.
Nice place to have experience of unlimited Kathiyawadi or Surati thali.
We went in for Lunch on weekend, we opted for the Unlimited Gujarati Thali Option, there 2 options to pick from Surti or the Kathiyawadi, both were great options. The food was great when it comes to taste. The only complaint I have is with the service. It seems like the restaurant is operated by the family with no additional staff, there is a lack of service. Food was unlimited but the service was relaxed, we had to wait for our food even when ordered a while ago. & the quantity that was brought out of the kitchen was limited. I believe it was because food was prepared in small portions & to avoid any additional food wastage which is a good thing but can be time consuming. Overall if you have time & like Gujarati Food which I definitely believe you should try, I highly recommend this place in Montreal.
We went for the Unlimited Surti & Kathiawadi thalis. The food tasted very delicious. The service was also great. It was definitely value for money.
Great Indian food, although it can get a little spicy. They also have unlimited thali & chaat options.
it's unlimited, but the wait after the first serving exceeds 15 minutes as only one person is serving. The paneer dish lacked actual paneer-I found only two tiny cubes, & it was overly salty. However, the rotis were very soft & fresh. Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't go back just for this.
Must must try if you want Gujarati & Ghar Ka Khana. It was really delicious authentic Gujarati food. We tried their special Kathiyavadi Thaal & Surati Thaal. Both were having unlimited serving. :) We loved Bajara Ka Rotla, felt like mom Ka hath Ka rotla!!! Thank you FOODINE
