We are visiting from Toronto & had an amazing experience at Foodine Montréal. We ordered the Gujarati Surati thali & the Kathiyawadi thali, as recommended by the gentleman at the front desk. He gave excellent advice & suggested ordering both so we could try different sabjis as a group, which was a great idea.
The service was fantastic throughout our visit. The bharthu (olo) was absolutely delicious, & the ras puri was top-notch. Everything tasted authentic & full of flavor.
Whenever we visit Montréal again, this thali will definitely be our go-to meal. Highly recommended!
We had the Kathiyawadi thali & it was absolutely amazing. The taste was authentic & full of flavor. The rotlo & odo truly reminded us of the real Kathiyawad taste. The staff was very friendly & welcoming. Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
Foodine offers an impressive array of vegetarian options, but their Gujarati thali stole the show for me. The dishes were incredibly flavorful, from the sweet & spicy dal to the perfectly spiced Shaaks. The unlimited thali ensures you get a bit of everything, & the variety is outstanding. with the buttermilk & Aam Ras satisfying the tummy giving a fairy tale bliss to the unlimited thaal. Whether you're craving comfort food or something more indulgent, this place has you covered. Their street food options, like bhel & chaat, are also top-notch! Moreover i would highly recommend their rotis, rotla, began bharta, sev tameta, undhiyu puri, khichdi & Kadhi (they are top notch)! & also the combo of Indian masala tea & Theplas is must try!
Staff is so welcoming & ready too help you with smile. For sure will come back . Best Indian food in Montreal! Tried their Chinese too & was awesome, quality & taste was good, & quantity was justified against price! When in Montreal try this hidden gem♥?!!!
We had a wonderful experience at Foodine Restaurant! If you're craving authentic Gujarati thali, this is the place to be. The food felt just like home-flavorful, fresh, & full of love.
The baingan bharta was perfectly spiced, the undhiyu rich & comforting, & the mango ras was simply divine. We also loved the Surati pattice-crispy on the outside & bursting with flavor inside.
There was a wide variety of dishes, & each one had that special homemade touch. The staff was warm & welcoming, making our family outing even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy real Gujarati food in a cozy, family-friendly setting. We'll definitely be back!
I've been to Foodine Restaurant a couple of times while visiting Canada & it never disappoints me. They serve authentic Indian street food, & the flavors are consistently bold, fresh, & delicious.
Every dish I've tried has reminded me of true Indian street-style cooking, & their shakes are flavorful & delicious.
If you're craving Indian street food with great taste & quality, I highly recommend stopping by Foodine Restaurant.
Felt like a trip back to India! I haven't had such authentic-tasting food in Canada before. The food was absolutely delicious-highly recommend trying their thali. It's reasonably priced, with excellent quality & great service to match.
Tried the Surti Thali at Food One, Montréal - & it was absolutely delicious!
Authentic Gujarati flavors, generous portions, & a perfect mix of sweet, spicy, & savory dishes. Tasted just like a home-cooked meal. Highly recommend it - a must-try for anyone craving gujarati comfort food!
Initially the service was very slow & we had to wait for almost half an hour. But once I tasted the thali I felt it was worth waiting. Just a heads up that it would be very crowded on weekends.
Tried a Kathiyawadi thali with roti accompanied by a chai -flavorful & well-balanced. The dhal had just the right level of spice, with aromatic cardamom shining through. Both the palak paneer & paneer butter masala were exceptional. Great service too-our server shared thoughtful background on the dishes. Overall, highly recommend!
Lovely restaurant with awesome service ! Best bhel puri I ate so far in Montréal. Highly recommended !
Foodine Restaurant is one of my top choices whenever I'm craving authentic Kathiyawadi & Indian street food. The staff is always friendly & welcoming, & I appreciate that it's a purely vegetarian establishment without compromising on flavor. Their unlimited Surti thali is a personal favorite, & the mango ras is a must-try-it's absolutely delicious. I recently tried their Handvo & Dabeli & indo chinese items, & I was thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal! Bring your friends & family & enjoy delicious meal.
Here's a template for a review of the best Indian restaurant: --- **A Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian Cuisine!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The ambiance is warm & inviting, perfect for a cozy dinner or special occasion. The food is the real highlight - every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors. The butter chicken was perfectly creamy, & the spices in the biryani were spot on. The naan was soft, fresh, & just the right complement to the meal. The service was friendly, attentive, & quick, which made the experience even better. If you're a fan of Indian food or looking to try it for the first time, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
This place is heaven for lovers of Indian food! I came for the bajri rotla & phulka rotis, & it was the hidden gem which served everything fresh. Both were incredibly fresh & soft, & the rotla paired perfectly with the ringna no olo (roasted eggplant). The flavors were authentic, & the quality of ingredients was evident. Their street food selection is incredible too-especially the chaat. It's hard to find authentic flavors like this in Canada, but Foodine delivers. Highly recommend! Ps: It felt like i took a trip back to india. I am so gonna visit Foodine (Montreal) again.
Foodine Restaurant in Montreal offers an authentic & flavorful Kathiyawadi Thali. The smoky eggplant curry with Bajri Rotla, jaggery, & ghee is a must-try, sev tameta & other all the varieties were very delicious. The cozy ambiance & friendly service enhance the dining experience, making it a perfect spot for vegetarian Indian cuisine lovers. Highly recommended!
I used a tiffin service for half a year, & it was truly exceptional. The food was always nice & light, making it perfect for daily meals. I never had any issues with the delivery; it was always on time. The service is also great value for money, offering quality meals without putting a strain on your budget. Unfortunately, I had to stop the service due to moving to a different province, but I would have gladly continued otherwise. I highly recommend giving this tiffin service a try!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BEST OF MONTREAL if you are looking for authentic Gujarati taste! We traveled from Nova Scotia & found this place through a Google search. We are so happy we chose this place for dinner. We had the thali & much more-everything was like home: tasty & amazing. Highly recommended! Definitely coming back soon.
Loved the ghughra sandwich, surti pattice, dahi puri & chaas. Highly recommend for vegetarians. For khamani, I recommend visiting in the morning because they ran out when we visited in the evening.
We recently dined at Foodine in downtown Montreal, & it was an unforgettable experience. This cozy little restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite spots, especially for their authentic Gujarati cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of home. The staff was incredibly friendly & attentive, making sure every detail of my dining experience was perfect. The food, however, was the star of the show. Every dish was bursting with flavors that took me back to my roots. The Gujarati thali was a highlight, with its delightful combination of savory, sweet, & tangy elements, just like my grandmother used to make. Each bite was a nostalgic journey, & I could tell that the chefs put a lot of love & care into their cooking. In addition to the thali, the dhokla & thepla were simply outstanding. They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, & paired beautifully with the chutneys. It's rare to find such authentic Gujarati food outside of India, & Foodine truly excels in bringing the flavors of Gujarat to Montreal. Overall, Foodine is a gem in the heart of downtown Montreal. It's a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Indian cuisine, especially if you're looking for that special taste of home. I highly recommend it & can't wait to return for another delicious meal.
We went in for Lunch on weekend, we opted for the Unlimited Gujarati Thali Option, there 2 options to pick from Surti or the Kathiyawadi, both were great options. The food was great when it comes to taste. The only complaint I have is with the service. It seems like the restaurant is operated by the family with no additional staff, there is a lack of service. Food was unlimited but the service was relaxed, we had to wait for our food even when ordered a while ago. & the quantity that was brought out of the kitchen was limited. I believe it was because food was prepared in small portions & to avoid any additional food wastage which is a good thing but can be time consuming. Overall if you have time & like Gujarati Food which I definitely believe you should try, I highly recommend this place in Montreal.
I recently dined at this place & had an outstanding experience. The variety of curry choices was impressive, each one bursting with authentic flavors & spices. The quality of the food was excellent, & every dish I tried was delicious. The service was prompt & friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Indian cuisine.
