Review Summary

Foodine Restaurant offers a pure vegetarian Gujarati and Kathiyawadi dining experience in Montreal, delivering home style flavors with rotla, vagharelo rotlo, undhiyu, sev tameta shaak, and an impressive thali lineup that many reviewers say tastes like home. The menu features Gujarati Surti and Kathiyawadi thalis, along with dabeli, pav bhaji, bhel, chaat, and some Indo Chinese items, all noted for authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. Customers consistently praise friendly, attentive service and a warm, family friendly atmosphere, with staff providing helpful recommendations. The unlimited thali is a key draw and value for many, though a few experiences mention slow service, weekend crowds, and some meals arriving a bit cooler or less flavorful during busy times. Overall, the place is regarded as one of the top spots for Gujarati and Kathiyawadi cuisine in Montreal, often described as a hidden gem and a reliable choice for authentic Indian vegetarian food.

A Taste of Home at Foodline. If you're craving the comforting flavors of home-cooked meals made with love & care, look no further than Foodline. Tucked away in a cozy corner, this restaurant is a hidden gem that brings you back to your roots. One of the most charming aspects of Foodline is that the food is prepared by motherly age ladies, infusing each dish with the warmth & nostalgia of home. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of spices & the welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home. The menu boasts a delightful array of Gujarati delicacies, each dish bursting with authentic flavors & prepared with utmost love & tenderness. Every bite tastes as if it were cooked by your own mother, ensuring a truly satisfying dining experience. While parking may be a bit of a challenge as it's available on the road, the restaurant offers competitive rates & the option for unlimited thali, allowing you to indulge in as much delicious food as your heart desires. However, be prepared for difficulty finding parking, especially during evening hours & peak times. One minor drawback is the restaurant's size & location in the basement, which can make it feel colder than other dining establishments. But don't let that deter you! If you're eager to savor authentic Gujarati cuisine prepared with love & care, Foodline is a must-visit destination. In conclusion, Foodline is more than just a place to dine - it's an experience that transports you back to the comfort of home. So gather your loved ones & treat yourself to a memorable meal that will leave you craving more. Enjoy Eating & Happy Exploring.

We had an amazing experience in this restaurant. The food is incredibly tasty & the portions are generous, the price/quality ratio is great. We took the premium Thali & it was enough food for two people. I also recommend trying their tea. The service is also amazing - our waiter was very kind, he gave us customized recommendations based on our tastes & took the time to explain the origin of each dish.

Good place for quick snacks & also have some good options for there special thalis. Just one heads up, if you are visiting in weekend, go before closing time, because they are very well demanding & busy, so probably they will be out of some of the items which are very tasty & popular. Worth visiting👍

Rarely me & my other family members become unanimous in our assessment of food. This time we were: awful. We were prescribed their paneer karai masala as being really good. Well, 3 pieces of paneer in a dish worth 10 dollars & tasting really bad. The malai kofta was good; the gravy being very creamy. We had a thali. The chole was okayish. But the puri that came with the thali was, again, awful. We are used to having those fluffy & beautiful puris in these restaurants. But what came was pitiful excuse of puri. They even couldn't make the golab jamun right. You need to be really talented to turn golab jamun bad. But they did. Masali tea rescued a little, can be given 6/10. They're our neighbours. It breaks my heart to leave such a harsh review, but I am being completely honest.

Located in basement. Small sized. Limited seating.

This is on a weekday evening, dinner. I'm the first followed by people for dinner.

I tried chole bature & was disappointed because the chole was lacking flavor & the poori became crunchy.

Service was alright, serving time was okay.

It was just an okay experience for me.

Their thali seemed tempting Not sure how it would be (they're gonna serve the same curry right?)
