About

Foiegwa presents an unapologetic interpretation of French culinary traditions fused with high-calorie comfort food staples. The menu centers on classic bistro fare, characterized by rich preparations like signature foie gras, escargot, and steak frites. A standout feature remains the heavy, indulgent burger that balances traditional butchery with an elevated, buttery decadence. The interior environment channels the aesthetic of a classic Parisian haunt, utilizing a narrow, packed layout that emphasizes intimacy and constant movement. Mirrors and brass accents define the space, creating a dense, high-energy atmosphere that rejects minimalism in favor of maximalist flavor profiles. Guests encounter a straightforward approach to execution where ingredient quality dictates the composition of every dish. This establishment prioritizes consistent, robust portions that favor saturation and classic technique over modern, light-handed culinary trends.

Went for a brunch her as a friend of mine really wanted to try this restaurant. Once out of the restaurant, I understood why I never went back to Foiegwa since my first visit in 2018. The place is really small & when it gets busy (which is the case for brunch time during the weekend), the noise makes it impossible to enjoy the atmosphere. It can really give you a headache! Besides the atmosphere, I honestly think that the food is not worth the vibe. If compared to other places, the fried chicken is Ok, the fries came cold which wasn't very appealing & the Foiegwa Slam was ok but nothing special about it.

Good food, nice flavor. Went after 21h for the 25$ per person. It was very good & on small portions so i didn't feel bloated after. The server was very friendly & well mannered. We took 2 cocktails each & it was very tasty, they sure know how to make mexican cocktails.

Interesting cocktails. Offers a late night menu with dishes that pairs well together - would recommend ordering both if dining for two. Appetizing dishes, especially the chicken liver mousse which was very palatable & oddly delightful. Place was packed full & pretty loud, would not recommend for first dates or first time meetings; great place for catching up or date nights.

Amazing atmosphere. Small, private restaurant. Beautiful decor. Food was delicious. Worth the price! The octopus was to die for!

A laid back spot that's great for a date or just a casual hangout with a couple of friends. It's not big, & would probably be best for parties of 4 max. The plates are small & meant to be shared, but price-wise could quickly add up, so don't come too hungry. I really enjoyed the truffle spaghetti.

A Night to Remember at Foiegwa, Where the Cocktails Are as Dazzling as the Conversation! If you're looking for a place where the dishes inspire awe & the cocktails could win awards, look no further than Foiegwa in Griffintown. Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, this gem offers a "Menu Découverte" that's like a treasure hunt for your taste buds, revealing one culinary delight after another. Sitting at the bar really amps up the experience, especially with Chloe as your cocktail-conjuring, story-spinning maestro behind the counter. Not only does she know her way around a shaker, but she's also your go-to guru for all things mixology & Griffintown gossip. Whether you're sipping on a meticulously crafted martini or diving into a plate of their renowned foie gras, Chloe will ensure your evening is filled with flair & fun. Foiegwa isn't just a restaurant; it's a rendezvous spot for those who appreciate the finer things in life, like good food, great drinks, & engaging bartenders. By the end of the night, you'll be raising your glass to good health, great company, & the undeniable charm of Chloe!

Good appetizers, highly recommend frog legs. Drinks were very good too, both taste & presentation-wise. Pasta felt very anticlimactic, wouldn't order again. Atmosphere of a diner, good if you like cozy. Prices are a bit high for the portion size IMO

My friends & I had a wonderful dining experience at Foiegwa. The food was pricey but absolutely delicious! As for people giving this place one star reviews for not accepting kids: This is NOT discrimination. As they clearly advertise on their website, they are technically a bar not a restaurant & are simply respecting Quebec laws. There are many other establishments like them in Montreal with similar restrictions.

I have been there 3-4 times for both brunch & dinner. The dishes are always great, BUT the drinks are outstanding!! You might feel a bit cramped up in busy night. Overall is a worthy place to try! P.S. The fried chicken with waffle & the black truffle pasta with egg yoke are my top reformations.
