Foiegwa offers a cozy Parisian bistro vibe with intimate seating, friendly and attentive staff, and a menu that shines with truffle pasta, foie gras, beef tartare and duck, plus crowd pleasing options like eggs Benedict variations and a strong brunch and late night set menu. While visits are praised for atmosphere, delicious food and good value, some experiences note slower or distracted service, a crowded and noisy dining room, and occasional substitutions that miss expectations; nevertheless the overall impression is a welcoming, well balanced combination of quality and charm, making it a go-to spot for a date night, brunch with friends, or a special occasion, with reservations advised due to the small space.
The steak tartare was inventive generously portioned, & thanks perhaps to the diner homage crockery felt & tasted retro. Our party of four enjoyed everything including the frites. A delightful mystery is how the crunchy bits in some of the sauces stayed crunchy despite the liquid immersion. There's much more going on here than meets the eye. It was impossible not to reach for the serving spoons in our family style array of dishes & licking them clean. Damn lucky neighbourhood to have a corner joint like this.

Excellent arctic char & broccolini. The potato rosti tasty & unusual but a starter for one. The bartending produced nicely crafted cocktails & there's an ample wine list. Beers not so much. Excellent & friendly table service. Busy but not noisy small dining room
We arrived at 9:10 PM. We had a 945 reservation at the bar & got there a little early. The hostess was gracious enough to give us a table instead, so that we wouldn't have to wait until 9:45 PM. The chicken ballotine was the best dish. The food runner/ server was very attentive. He had such a nice attitude about him. Definitely recommend!!!

Food is good but plates could be more generous.
Nice for a laid back diner.
Service is cajual.
Got a Calvados shooter for my wife's birthday. Always nice to have that little personnal touch.

I haved dined at Foiegwas several times on my visits from NYC. I have recommended it to several friends traveling to Montreal. I dined there last night & it will be my last visit. We were seated very graciously by our waiter & given our menues etc. After a short wait, I ordered a cocktail & gave our dinner orders. All perfect. After 5 minutes my delicious cocktail was served & within 1 minute my order of velouté was brought to the table as well. I was not prepared to eat it immediately & was looking forward to enjoying my drink. The waiter came by & I asked ( politely) if he could take the velouté back to the kitchen to keep it warm while I drank my drink. He said he could but 1) it could not simply be kept warm & would have be thrown out & a new one made & 2) I should have informed him that I did not want them served together. I am not one to waste food so I did not send it back. First of all, how could I know they would be served together? Is it not customary to bring a cocktail first & let the guest have five or ten minutes to enjoy it? & why would the waiter want to make me feel badly or guilty about returning it to the kitchen? He could have simply taken it back without question & returned it to me after my drink, without the unprofessional explanation given. The rest of the meal was ok, not great. My spaghetti was not hot but luke warm. The bathrooms were quite messy (& it was early in the night). Napkins on the floor, trash overflowing. I ask if this is what is viewable to the public, is the kitchen in the same state? With regret, I will not be returning or recommending Foiegwas in the future.

Cappuccinos arrived cold was not happy about that so I don't think I will not order their cappuccinos again but I will go back to try other dishes
