Food was exceptional. Restaurant atmosphere was well done. More importantly, our service & host was amazing. Thank you Katia for accommodating us & being so kind. This place rocks
Naira was super nice & enthusiastic & made the experience worth it! The vodka pasta was a bit spicy & really good, the Caesar could have used more dressing & the focaccia was good. Overall very fun experience, cute place.
The food was amazing pasta perfectly cooked to al denté the sauce was rich & had a lot of depth to it. The focaccia is must! It melts in your mouth not to mention the service was also amazing my only complaint is I don't think curly fries nor the ceasar salad should be costing you 19$….
So to start off, if you have been living under a rock & haven't heard about @bistroamerigo newest project & addition to Montreal iconic Notre-Dame food street, u need to get your butt over there pronto!
Introducing, @figata.mtl, a lovely styled restaurant in the heart of little burgandy area & what a awesome addition to the neighbourhood. I've been saying it for years that Amerigo needs to expand & open up another concept restaurant & this was such a delight to see.
It still gives you very homey vibes something very approachable not too high end but not too drabby something that makes it feel comforting like walking into your Nonna's house with an upper class flare.
The food was nothing short of superb both pasta dishes that we got were amazing. The orrechiette pasta with truffle & mushroom was a standout, we also opted to add the sausage which was a must in my opinion. The other past that we got was more of a classic with a fun pasta shape that really holds & picks up everything, again the sauce was amazing
For the appetizers if you know me I couldn't just get one. We got their veal meatballs which were almost the same as if getting them from Amerigo themselves perfect in every way. The octopus dish was also a hit as I new it would be & the thing funny enough that I was most excited to try because I'm such a fan, was there curly fries with a Bolognese dipping sauce & a creamy truffle dipping sauce absolutely mind blown by this combination!
Again I've been a huge supporter of them for many years now & I'm so happy for them on their new location wishing them much success & can't wait to come back for another visit!
Well, I really wanted to like this place given all the rave reviews, but sadly it fell short. The service was great & I enjoyed the ambiance out on the terrace. Unfortunately, the food is pretty bland. The focaccia was extremely dense. The Caesar salad had no taste. My funghi orecchiette was also incredibly bland. Lacked salt & any other flavour. Certainly did not taste like mushrooms & even less so of any kind of truffle. Needed salt needed pepper needed garlic. Orecchiette was well cooked & it was in a cream sauce. C'est tout. Oh I had a passion fruit mocktail which was stellar. Maybe they should rebrand into a bar since cooking isn't really going well. I'm sorry to be so blunt but I haven't had a lacklustre meal out in Montreal in a long time. This was just bad.
Service & atmosphere was by far the best parts of the experience. Celia was fantastic, thoughtful, caring & personable. Style combines trendy but classic Italian. Playlist was awesome. Great drinks & some interesting takes on classics. can tell there is imagination behind the scenes.
Food was overall decent, but could be improved. Felt caesar salad was lacking flavour (other reviews said it was very anchovy forward which I didn't feel at all). Asked for extra salt & pepper even. Had the mushroom pasta, the pasta itself was well cooked & fresh but sauce was also lacking salt & umami.
Crudo was great. A bit sweet at first but actually goes well with the chilis.
Lamb skewers were solid. Frito misto was nicely breaded, fresh.
Dessert was interesting, there was a lot going on for one plate (cinnamon/brown sugar, pistachio, blueberry compote & a cream, plus pecans) but well baked, moist, gelato was good.
Overall I prefer the food at Amerigo, decent place for date night. Cost $200 plus tip, including two cocktails.
Had a wonderful dinner at Figata for my sister's birthday. Wonderful ambiance with welcoming decor, delicious food & reasonably priced. Special shout-out to our server Daphne who took great care of us throughout our dinner.
