Our experience was not what we expected. To begin with, I'm not a fan of how close the tables are to each other (see picture). We could hear the other couple's conversation, & of course they could hear ours, & the music didn't help. Terrible place for a date!
Then there's the food, which didn't feel like it had any quality or special ingredients. We ordered two appetizers:
Fritto Misto $26: a large plate of calamari, octopus, & shrimp. The plate is so large that the food at the bottom is full of oil, rubbery, & mushy. Not pleasant at all. Charcuterie plate $14: the cheese & charcuterie resemble what you would find at the supermarket. Terrible quality.
Main courses:
The Zozzona $28: the pasta didn't feel fresh & homemade, it was more like something bought at the supermarket, & the sauce was quite heavy & salty. It made my stomach hurt.
Funghi & Tartufo $26: stale, bland pasta with mushrooms & truffles, cream, & butter. Nothing special. We ordered dessert since we were celebrating a birthday, we ordered the dessert of the day for $14, which ended up being a lemon tart that didn't feel like it had been made recently, with cream cheese & a little lemon. We had two cocktails that were okay, but in the end they felt watered down.
In summary, the bill came to $185, for an unpleasant, expensive experience with mediocre food, therefore, I would not recommend the restaurant & would not return. In my opinion, there are better Italian restaurants in Montreal.

Fries - mid. Felt even under-salted. Crispy; I liked the shape, but the bowl came barely filled because the sauce cups took up so much room. There were a lot of scraps (half curlies, even 1/3rd curlies). -5
Meat sauce - boring, like just simple meat sauce.
Béchamel - good, okay sauce felt kind of like a mushroom saice.
The concept seems fun, but the flavours felt a little flat.
Caesar - good, very anchovy-forward!! -7.7
Perfect amount of parmesan - I liked it. If you don't like anchovies, you might not enjoy it (there were also some stray anchovies in the bowl). Some pieces were so saucy, I enjoyed that. Lettuce was fresh & good, but no croutons (she said she'd give us non-bacon ones, but we didn't get them) - still enjoyed it. Definitely an acquired taste.
Mushroom - noodle al dente a bit; I liked the noodle shape. It was good. While I love mushrooms, it felt almost like too many. Good, but Amerigo mushroom pasta is even better (though this was the best of the bunch). 7
Tomato - interesting spice. There was something a little weird in the sauce, like an unrecognizable, earthy flavour. I liked the shape, but it was solid average - nothing outstanding, literally just a tomato sauce with cheese. -5
Vodka - disappointing . Spice overpowering; doesn't taste like vodka sauce at all. Besides spice, it has no flavour whatsoever. Homemade is honestly better. -4
Service - good. They filled our water often. Our waitress was nice. Good romantic ambiance, dark, so if you're someone who pulls out a flashlight in dark restaurants, beware your flashlight will be out. Cute vibe - it's Italian, homey( with the tablecloths), but with a more fancy vibe.
All in all, everyone I went with, myself included, rated it between 5-6. for the total restaurant experience food wise.
It's a try-once-&-go-back-to-your-comfort-spot kind of place. Definitely overrated, & I wouldn't go back, just a place you try because everyone is posting on TikTok.
I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Figata & I'm still thinking about the meal days later. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, & effortlessly stylish.
We were served by Vee, who was truly fantastic. Attentive without being overbearing & knowledgeable about the menu. Vee elevated the entire evening with thoughtful recommendations & impeccable service.
To start, we had the polpette paired with fresh focaccia bread. You can taste the care & quality in every bite. For the main, the cowboy cut steak with broccolini was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, & beautifully seasoned. Napolitain ice cream for dessert was a great way to tie it all up.
Huge compliments to the chef for creating such a delicious & well-executed menu. Figata is a gem, & I can't wait to come back. If you're looking for exceptional Italian cuisine with top-tier service, this is the place. Highly recommend!
Long story short, the same is legit, the place was great & I would go back. Its not cheap but it was definitely worth it.
Okay so full disclosure Italian is my least favorite type of restaurant to eat out at, not cause of the taste but I just feel like I can kindof make this at home vs like indian, thai, etc.
That said this place & experience was worthwhile. Recently opened & reservations were hard to come by but eventually got a table for two on a Wednesday night that ended up being packed as well.
The place isnt huge but its welcoming, perfectly lit, music at the right level & warm.
Servers were very friendly but it did take a while, that said it was busy so not the end of the world.
Menus are nice & simple started with couple of drinks, drinks & food are both just 2 sides, something to be said for simplicity.
We ordered a couple of cocktails, two appetizers & two mains which was ambitious & overkill.
We had the meatballs & the veggies apps, & for the mains the Zozzona & the mushroom pasta (Funghi E Tartupo).
The Funghi was the standout for both of us but everything tasted fresh, simple & rich at the same times.
Both mains were huge so its great for sharing I would say 2 apps & 1 main is enough to share for 2 ppl, even 1 app & a main but you will probably be taking something home like I did too.
Figata is just a really solid Italian restaurant that gets the basics right-& that's exactly why it works.
The vibe is warm & relaxed without feeling trendy or overdesigned. It's comfortable, well-lit, & feels like a place meant for eating & talking, not taking selfies. You sit down, order a glass of wine, & you're immediately at ease.
The food is the star. The pasta is excellent across the board: properly cooked, well-seasoned, & not drowned in sauce. The flavors are clean & confident. Nothing feels overworked or gimmicky. Whether it's a creamy mushroom pasta or a tomato-based dish finished with cheese, it tastes like someone in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing.
The appetizers are simple & done right. Burrata is fresh & creamy, vegetables are treated properly, & everything tastes like quality ingredients instead of kitchen tricks. It's classic Italian cooking with restraint, which is harder to find than it should be.
Service is friendly, efficient, & knows when to leave you alone. No hovering, no attitude, no upselling nonsense. Just solid, professional service. The wine list is strong, leans Italian, & pairs well with the menu without being overpriced.
Figata doesn't try to reinvent Italian food or chase trends. It focuses on execution, consistency, & comfort-& it delivers on all three. If you want dependable, well-made Italian food in Montreal, this is an easy five-star spot & a place you'll want to come back to.
This restaurant is a beautiful addition to the Montreal restaurant scene! So I'll just review item by item
Cesar salad best I've had in mtl by a mile
Spiral fries a little overhyped still yummy however
Calamari frito was so so so so so gooood crispy perfectly seasoned so fresh very good
Focaccia a little bit salty not my favorite
The vodka sauce pasta was just nuts best meal of the night spectacular
Tiramisú was on same level as the pasta so so good.

had an incredible time at Figata! the service was so welcoming & created such a wonderful experience! the food was all delicious & fresh! would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning!
We started with the crudo, which was outstanding. Fresh, well-balanced, & finished with an oil that was smooth & quietly carried the whole dish without overpowering it.
For mains, we shared the Spaghetti Vongole-simple, delicate, & really well executed-along with a truffle & mushroom fettuccine that was rich without being too heavy. Everything tasted thoughtful & well-paced. We paired it with a white wine we unfortunately forgot the name of, but it was perfect in the moment, which feels more important.
By the time we finished, we were very full. Still, the lemon cake was too tempting to pass up, & we didn't regret it.
The atmosphere was immaculate-cozy & inviting, intimate without feeling quiet. We may have had the best table in the house, but the energy carried throughout the space. It's the kind of place where you get so absorbed in the conversation & food that you momentarily forget what (or who) else is around you.
The staff made the experience even better-attentive, genuinely helpful, & great with recommendations. We felt well taken care of from start to finish.
A great choice for a date night or any kind of celebration. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & would happily return.
Outstanding! Food was fresh, delicious & the portions are very generous. Impeccable service - the polpettes & the vongole pasta were absolute hits. Warm focaccia was also devoured.
So nice to have delicious Italian nearby & parking is easy around.
Great vibes too!!
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The food was outstanding-authentic, beautifully prepared, & bursting with flavor. Every dish tasted fresh & thoughtfully made, & you can truly tell they care about quality. The service was warm, attentive, & welcoming without being overbearing, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy & inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner.
