Figata is just a really solid Italian restaurant that gets the basics right-& that's exactly why it works.
The vibe is warm & relaxed without feeling trendy or overdesigned. It's comfortable, well-lit, & feels like a place meant for eating & talking, not taking selfies. You sit down, order a glass of wine, & you're immediately at ease.
The food is the star. The pasta is excellent across the board: properly cooked, well-seasoned, & not drowned in sauce. The flavors are clean & confident. Nothing feels overworked or gimmicky. Whether it's a creamy mushroom pasta or a tomato-based dish finished with cheese, it tastes like someone in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing.
The appetizers are simple & done right. Burrata is fresh & creamy, vegetables are treated properly, & everything tastes like quality ingredients instead of kitchen tricks. It's classic Italian cooking with restraint, which is harder to find than it should be.
Service is friendly, efficient, & knows when to leave you alone. No hovering, no attitude, no upselling nonsense. Just solid, professional service. The wine list is strong, leans Italian, & pairs well with the menu without being overpriced.
Figata doesn't try to reinvent Italian food or chase trends. It focuses on execution, consistency, & comfort-& it delivers on all three. If you want dependable, well-made Italian food in Montreal, this is an easy five-star spot & a place you'll want to come back to.
What a great new spot in St Henri! Service was kind & attentive, sat at the bar (barstools actually comfortable so if you are a meal-at-the- bar lover, this is a great spot), charming & not too big. I had a delicious mocktail, my friend a regular cocktail, both great! We split the octopus, served with beans & it was perfectly cooked. We each chose the scallop risotto & highly recommend! Will definitely be back
This restaurant is a beautiful addition to the Montreal restaurant scene! So I'll just review item by item
Cesar salad best I've had in mtl by a mile
Spiral fries a little overhyped still yummy however
Calamari frito was so so so so so gooood crispy perfectly seasoned so fresh very good
Focaccia a little bit salty not my favorite
The vodka sauce pasta was just nuts best meal of the night spectacular
Tiramisú was on same level as the pasta so so good.
The two pastas we got could use a bit more salt. Great atmosphere & portions, nice wine selection
Wow! Really enjoyed the warm service. Very good food. Great addition to the neighborhood. Will absolutely return. The norcia was fantastic
The vibe? Immaculate. Low lighting, classic Frank Sinatra playing, giving full Italian bistro in New York energy - intimate & cozy.
The spaghetti fritti was delicious. Pro tip: get the sauces on the side. I just wish the pasta came with more sauce. The sauces taste so authentic.
The Caesar salad had a slight aftertaste & didn't really taste like a classic Caesar.
Now the tiramisu? Elite. Non-negotiable. Must-order. Absolutely divine.
This place is a whole aesthetic🍝
Lovely part of town, decent service but food was a total miss. We had the caesar salad .. it was overly slimy & anchovy heavy… both pasta dishes disappointed.. salted beyond reason & the other was dried out like it had been left under the heaters too long. They were in their first week of opening so perhaps they were ironing out the details. 🤷?♀? Wine was good. Ambiance ok, but we were frozen where we were seated. Glad we tried it, but wouldn't return as there are much better Italian restaurants in Montreal.
Great food & great hospitality! They can also easily take care of anyone with a celiac disease/gluten allergy.
Figata is the kind of place that reminds you why going out to eat can feel special. The food is bold, comforting, & clearly made with care, every dish feels intentional without trying too hard. The flavors hit that perfect balance between rustic & refined, & you can taste the quality in every bite. Pair that with a warm, effortlessly cool atmosphere & genuinely attentive service, & you've got a restaurant that delivers on every level. Figata isn't just good…it's the spot you keep thinking about after you've left. Also, our waitress Naira is the BEST!!! ask for her when you try Figata!
