Reviews for Farine & Vanille highlight outstanding pastries and breads, with croissants, babkas, cinnamon rolls, and the baguette repeatedly singled out as a standout and many saying the croissants are the best they’ve had in Montreal. Coffees such as cappuccinos and cortados receive high praise, with the cortado described as a revelation by some and a potential new favorite. The atmosphere is described as a beautiful, cozy little spot and the staff as friendly and welcoming, contributing to a post run or morning treat appeal, though its small space can feel chilly in winter. Travelers and locals alike mention returning and will be back, with many noting the location near accommodations helped their routines. A minority of reviews mention issues, including inconsistent coffee quality or service hiccups and criticisms about bread slicing, but these are outweighed by the overall positive impressions.
I stopped by after a recommendation by the pharmacy team across from this place. A pleasant welcome with lovely smell of fresh pastries, the scent of coffee & smiling staff. My order was for hot chocolate & it was stellar! I will be back, keep up your originality & stay independent, it's a refreshing experience.

An ideal post-run treat! Fantastic pastries, space for seating, & the friendliest staff you could ask for. Made our Saturday run even better. Will be back!
& you guys need to learn french.
This shop was down the block from our air bnb & we went every morning. The croissants, cappuccinos & cortados were consistently better than any others we tried. Always had friendly service too!

Been coming here for a while now during some of my morning walks & it never disappoints! Amazing vibe & extremely friendly staff! They have amazing croissants & babkas & recently had an amazing savoury danoisw from here. Without fail, their brownie is always something that we have regularly..it's the best in town! Today though, the big revelation was the Cortado! Usually I get the Americano which is fantastic but I tried the Cortado & it was at a whole different level! Might be my new favourite drink!
The best baguette I've ever had! By 2 p.m., it was all gone. We were late, but the coffee was good. We asked for butter to have with the baguette, & they were so nice to give it to us. We enjoyed it!

Went back from France, ordered 1 croissant - got out with 2 pastries … (+croissant was so good as usual)
Feels good to be back home
Tysm sir with the blue sweatshirt !
Absolutely amazing !!!! Garlic baguette wow buttery croissants wow. Lady serving me was super super nice !!! I think she might be the owner. Next time im in the area definitely coming back . God Bless !!!
A nice bakery/café with exceptional quality goods. My chocolatine was immaculately flaky & puffy, you can tell right away by the size. Variety wasn't big but didn't need to be. Prices are within reasonable range.
