Overall, the reviews describe FAME Café as a warm, spacious spot that is great for working or relaxing, with a wide range of pastries and drinks and consistently friendly service. The coffee is highlighted with well-made cappuccinos and cortados, plus playful options like apricot Matcha and the popular almond lemon cookies, and the space is praised for natural light, a relaxed vibe, and music that can range from mellow to lively, with weekend DJ sets adding to the atmosphere. While most mention affordable prices for the neighborhood and a comfortable environment, some caveats appear: occasional noisy moments or delays, variability in pastry quality, and concerns about drink size or extra charges for plant-based milks. Restrooms are noted as small, and some reviews call for streamlined ordering and more mutual respect among patrons, but the consensus is that FAME Café offers a memorable, cafe culture experience with great coffee and a distinctive vibe.
Cute cafe with good coffee & amaretti, however there was a member of the staff that was sitting in the cafe, who was very loud & obnoxious. It really spoiled the atmosphere , which would have been otherwise very pleasant... she needs to learn about indoor voice & not yelling across a cafe to other employees.

Came this morning for the first time & I am very specific about how I like my coffee, they somehow got a perfect ring on my cappuccino with a great amount of foam, will come again
really delicious coffee for $4 is hard to find in the mile end!! keeps me coming back. also that almond cookie is to die for. nice place to come & do a bit of admin on my laptop in the mornings 💻 💫
Great coffee here despite the fact that the staff do not respect patrons time & order & the patrons can be pretentious given the neighborhood. Shame. If they made the ordering more streamlined & people respected one another's time it would be better rating.

FAME Café is a hidden gem-had a delicious cortado while vibing to great music on an impressive sound system. It's like a mini listening bar tucked inside a cozy café. Warm vibes, quality sound, & top-notch coffee make it a must-visit spot.

I didn't give the low rate, because the first time, with another barista, I was happy & the owner is a nice person.
I ordered a Cortado. The coffee was good, however, it more looked like a Macchiato, in terms of size & quantity of the milk, but the price was more like a Flat White/small Latte that you get from other coffee shops in the neighborhood. The first time that I got a Cortado there, the size was the regular size & when I mentioned that to the barista, she said that I was wrong.
The coffee is really tasty but the hours really don't make sense to me. Closed on Mondays (when people might be laziest to make their own coffees after the weekend) & only open at 9AM to I guess serve the unemployed? 😂 I'll be back, but hours lower my rating here - they kinda make it hard for me to come back as often as I would like!
5 for the fact that they put ice in their free water, & the music & vibe is a 10. A lot of competition in mile end but it's clear they want to be different which is a good look. Coffee is pretty good too.
