Milos offers an unparalleled traditional culinary experience. Milos is a very high-end traditional authentic Greek cuisine. One of the very best I have had.
On the day we were there, the batch of fishes, except one kind came directly from Greece by plane ! Mediterranean fishes are well known for their high quality, tasty meat & delicacy.
I tasted 4 entries, 3 main dishes & 3 desserts. Their signature dish of chips style fried zucchini & eggplant with tzatziki is a delight.
I like appetizers/tapas very much. When at the Mediterranean seashore (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal) I used to spend few days just eating entries/tapas for breakfast, for lunch & for late dinner. Milos appetizers are extremely tasty, fresh & authentic.
Here, seafood dishes are often, if not always prepared simply so that the customer can easily appreciate the freshness & delicacy of the product.
Even in the middle of the winter, everything there is extra high quality & extra fresh, nearly like the level I had found at the Mediterranean seashore. It's a true tour de force !
All my taken desserts were nice & tasty too.
My favorite dish : The young lamb chops in hotel/french cut is truly amazing. Highest quality chops, simply grilled, executed to perfection reveling ideal combination of tenderless, tastyness & nice flavor - a pleasure for the palate & nose.
The grilled Octopus is also a staple of Milos kitchen. Perfect, from high quality raw meat to execution. Sometime simple things or dishes with few elements are super hard be executed with perfection ... like a nice bread 🍞
The Milos atmosphere is refined with a touch of timeless ancien Greek elegance thru the multitude long white hanging drapes. The mixt of long straight lines & long curve lines all in white of this bright place, reminded me Oia & Santorin.
Milos is the place we can let ourself be immersed in a smooth elegant ambiance & deep Greek hospitality. This large restaurant is very well split in small, immaculate cozy & open spaces.
The kitchen seems way too small for the 160 seats. The delay between each plate rotations is super long. It's so slow.
Service is not yet par of the starred Michelin restaurant. Eyes contact is hard to reach when I needed something. Some waiters, seem sometime lost. I ended to'call' exclusively Kosmas. Price is somehow wallet friendly for that kind of high quality dishes.
If don't have deep pocket or don't want to spend too much, just skip the deluxe products, fish & seafood, on display sold by lbs. The choice of wine is large & also super wallet friendly compare to other fine restaurants in Montreal.
Upon entering, your heavy winter coat is taken from you & stored away. At the table, the water is served nearly right away, which is great. As in most fine dining restaurants, bread, flat & sparkle water are complementary of the restaurant. With each course rotation, the cutlery & utensils are changed. But here, no details of the contents is provided by the staff. There is here an opportunity of improvement as the kitchen is slow & it could elevate the overall dining experience, by providing detailed content of dishes or how it was specifically cooked or how fishes were caught ... it would fill nicely the waiting time with nothing to do, nothing to put on the teeth.
We had the chance to be mostly served by Kosmas. He was enjoyable, attentive, responsive, with the attitude, knowledge & professionalism, I found in starred restaurants. His contribution made our experience delightful at Milos, even with a kitchen that had difficulty to catch up on speed. & speed only, as the dishes were always tasty, flavorful & delightful.
All in all, one of the very best restaurant in Montreal. If you want extra fresh, tasty, authentic & higher Greek cuisine, you don't have to take a plane to Greece, just go there.
Exceptional seafood experience. Everything was outstanding from start to finish. We began with a beautifully fresh salmon crudo, light & perfectly balanced with citrus & olive oil. The Greek salad was crisp & vibrant, with excellent feta & clean flavors. A delicate fish cake served over white beans was rich yet refined.
The highlight was the Balaka fish - incredibly fresh, expertly grilled, moist, & simply dressed with olive oil, capers, & herbs, letting the quality of the fish shine. Even the roasted potatoes were memorable, perfectly cooked & infused with rosemary & olive oil.
The wine selection was a very pleasant surprise & paired beautifully with the seafood. Service was attentive, professional, & warm throughout. One of the best seafood meals in Montreal. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Eating well in Montreal has become increasingly challenging: high taxes, rising costs, & inconsistent quality often affect the final result. Unfortunately, my experience at Milos reflected exactly this.
The atmosphere & service were excellent-friendly staff & attentive care. However, the food did not live up to the restaurant's reputation. The starters, a cabbage salad with cheese & a small octopus dish of just eight slices, were disappointing for the price.
The main course, lobster with spaghetti, was the real downfall. The lobster tail was already emptied, giving the unpleasant impression of a decorative shell. When I cut into the head, a green paste spilled out, ruining the dish. The sauce-heavy & clearly made with tomato concentrate-overpowered the natural flavor of the lobster, which was rubbery & overcooked.
This approach strays far from true Mediterranean tradition, where seafood is enhanced with fresh ingredients like fresh cherry tomatoes & light preparation. The result was a visually appealing plate with none of the authenticity a food lover would expect.
Paying nearly $400 for two starters & two mains felt excessive. The Milos experience in Montreal does could justify its price but not the reputation, especially for those seeking genuine Greek culinary excellence.
Well prepared seafood, expertly grilled. Fine dining but relaxed. 200/person excl. Alcohol
Food was alright, lamb was small & not juicy enough. I've had better seafood elsewhere, the freshness was A+ but the way it was cooked was B at best. Very mediocre for what it was, service was slow & unapologetic. The waiter wasn't very good at explaining dishes & lacked enthusiasm.
Always a top tier dining experience at Milos. Every single appetizer, main course, side dish & dessert I have ever tried on their menu was delightful. The quality & freshness of the fish/seafood is evident, & the preparation & flavours of each dish are remarkable. The decor is elegant, & the ambiance is sophisticated & inviting. The waiters are gracious & very knowledegable ; service is impeccable! Milos ranks amongst the greats of Mediterranean cuisine, for good reason, & is undisputably the best Greek restaurant in town.
An exquisite taste of Greece-impeccably fresh seafood, meats, & vegetables prepared with authentic skill. Our captain (whose name I wish I remembered) offered exceptional service, including a wonderful tour of the ingredients before we ordered.
I've been coming to Milos since 2009, & it remains the best spot for fresh seafood in Montreal. The quality of the ingredients is always top-tier, & the flavors never disappoint. I also love the vibes & the elegant look of the restaurant it's a great place for a special meal.
The private section for groups is a nice touch, offering a more intimate dining experience. The only downside is that it can get a little cold downstairs in the winter due to the air coming from the upstairs door, but that's a small issue compared to the overall experience.
This place is truly a Montreal institution, & I'll keep coming back!
Visiting & among what seemed to be a sea of to go places in the area we found this place for a sitdown lunch. Beautiful place inside with very fresh seafood. Lunch was price fixed 3 course menu & it was really good & reasonably priced. Would love to come back for dinner.
Milos never disappoints. They have amazing seafood... service... well everything is world class. They pay attention to all the details & the food is clearly made with care. Ive been to several Milos locations & the food is consistently great across the board. Highly recommend & make reservations..
Milos is a stunning gem that elevates the dining experience to new heights. From the moment you step inside, the elegant decor & sophisticated ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The seafood here is exceptional, showcasing the freshest ingredients sourced from the finest markets. Each dish is a celebration of flavor & presentation. Service at Milos is top-notch-attentive & knowledgeable, the staff is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience. They offer great recommendations & are genuinely passionate about the menu. To round off the meal, the desserts are a must-try. The baklava was an exquisite blend of flaky pastry & rich nuts.
this is the best place in Montreal to eat if they have a terrase & I can bring my little dog I'm going next summer if you spend 500 euros you can eat amazing seafood I love lobster octopus & tsipoura & the prices are normal
Top-notch seafood dishes & fabulous night at Milos. Everything we had was exceptional. I would recommend simply any items on their à-la-carte dinner menu. I had high expectations before coming due to their rich culinary heritage, & I was not disappointed. A super fancy restaurant with impeccable service from the beginning to the end definitely makes Milos a worthwhile choice for anyone who seeks a refined culinary as well as an exquisite dining experience.
If you like seafood, then the quality & the experience at Milos is for you.
Delicious seafood restaurant with oysters & lobster. This is a greek cousin restaurant, so we take a Milos special made from cukini & aubergine with tzatziki. Our waiter George was marvellous & helpful in every moment. Thank You George & other staff. Se You again next time when we come to visit Montreal.
Yes, it's expensive but on par for the quality & experience. It's a high end Greek/Seafood restaurant experience. One of my top 10 favorites in Montreal. You can't miss. Business lunch/dinner? Your party/client will be very pleased. Romantic evening? Your significant other will be 'blown' away. Enjoy.
