As far as I know, the only coffee of its kind in Montreal. Coffees from internationally renowned roasters, the pour over card is akin to the likes of Subtext in Toronto, the staff is very friendly, & there is Gesha on the menu.
This is what 3rd wave specialty coffee is about.
Got myself a top shelf sidra, one gesha & something less fancy but still worthy a typica.
I'd say its nice place to grab a quality pour over coffee to go. Theres limited amount of room inside, but it is nice. Their coffee is quality but expensive.
Cute place. But chai latte & coffee were very tasteless. Very watery. & not hot enough. Very disappointing tbh. & when I ask very nicely if he can make my chai latte a bit stronger (because it was literally tasting like nothing…. just warm milk) he added a little splash on chai in my cup by telling me that normally this is the measurement used & no more…etc etc. Was said in a way that i should have been veryyyyy grateful he added a table spoon more…
Absolute 11/10 cafe experience here. Staff were incredible, vibe was awesome & I had a top 10 coffee of my life there. It tasted like fuzzy peaches! This is an MTL must visit
Have been visiting Eclair for years whenever in Montreal. They have an exceptional approach to coffee, sourcing some of the best beans in the world & preparing beverages with uncompromising attention to detail. All of the staff I've interacted with are knowledgeable & passionate about their work. The cafe itself is beautiful, clad in green & white, & stocking an eclectic mix of books which decorate the walls. Highly recommended, one of my favourite cafés.
Coffee was balanced, with a dense mouth feel, straightforward & very classical. Well executed. However, the lack of more & more complex options (sometimes they have two offerings but not when I visited) does not make them qualify as specialty in my opinion. Also, when I visited they were offering a Brazilian coffee roasted in Berlin... Tbh It is already bad enough the unavaodable: to have coffee traveling once around the world. Doing a double loop sounds a little bit too much.
Clearly the best cafe in town. Such passion & knowledge of coffee! I never drank coffee. & since trying theirs & Sebastian's expertise, I'm converted. &, it feels communal, like a little trip to South America, which is a wonderful extra 😍
