The place is great & service feels like a high end Parisienne experience, with white glove service! I just find it's expensive for what it is. The brunch was very tasty but spending $40 on eggs just doesn't seem worth it to me. As for all other pastries, they looked delicious, ambiance is great & service was impeccable ! It's a nice overall experience.
Searching for delicious pastries? Duc de Lorraine is your place! I fell in love with the raspberry cream filled croissant & the macarons. Perfect brunch spot with an awesome view of the oratory!

The quality of the food was amazing. You can't go to this place without trying one of their pastries. Our server, Andrew, is made for this job. He has amazing customer service. We had an amazing time at Duc de Lorraine. A must try for your montreal visit!
I have been fortunate to receive as a gift recently, the most delicious pastries from this renown bakery! They are indeed scrumptious & yummy next day too. This location is a gem, it's the heart of the Cote des Nieges area, & it has the highest quality pastries that never disappoint👍. I have been a client myself for 50 years...picking up baked goods & delicious quiches since my early 20's. Everything is exceptional! I have lunched on their terrace with friends &, I have enjoyed coffee hour there too. A visit is essential whether you are a tourist or a local, or traveling through the area, heading to the multiple surrounding tourist areas in the vicinity. Do stop in!
I was really excited to try the place but I was a bit disappointed. The staff is friendly & the pastries are tempting & presentable. They do have the viral pastries like the cookie croissant. It is also kids friendly, they provide crayons for them to draw on the table paper. We ordered a butter croissant ($5.25) & pistachio New York roll ($11.25). However, the taste was below average & it was overpriced almost double the other cafes & bakeries. Also, the dine-in prices are higher than the take out prices. The pistachio decoration & filling were disappointing & tasted artificial. It seems they use artificial flavoring & coloring for them.
I dont know of many places you can sip a coffee with wonderful pastries & a staff that is so attentive in a location like this. Clear 5 stars & if there was a 6th star Id give it. Thanks for your service Andrew

Bakery Duc de Loraine offers a delightful array of French pastries & breads, known for their authentic taste & quality. I rave about their croissants & specialty cakes, making it a must-visit for pastry enthusiasts in the area.
overpriced brunch food, underseasoned omelet, good croque monsieur & pastries, sat next to the bathroom. they have a 31$ avocado toast on the menu which is insane. mediocre cappucino
Instagram advertisement was pretty intriguing. Headed there for breakfast/ brunch. The morning was slightly chillier for end of June. The restaurant had outdoor heaters available. The place was packed. Reservation should be made ahead of time. Food, presentation, restaurant cleanliness were outstanding. They have dangerous amount of pastries here. Prepare for hard choice to make. Coffee refill was suggested. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server was either new or on training. However, entire team had been taking care of our table. Paid parking on the street is possible.
Quite ordinary pastries considering the fanfare. The quiche pastry dough tasted like it was bought at the supermarket, the pastry creams too sweet, the baba au rhum had flavorless rum . Nothing to write home about - except for the prices! $9.75 most pastries. Disappointed & won't return.
I just returned from my long weekend trip to Montreal & am back home in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario & I am compelled to write this review & send a Special Thank you to "Mo" (Mahomet), my wonderful server at the Fabulous Duc De Lorraine!!!! I spent my mornings being pampered at this delightful Bistro with an amazing array of scrumptious pastries, sandwiches & beverages. As a Guest, you can choose to dine inside the Bistro or outside on the patio which offered scenic views of the Observatoire & a small park lined with tables & chairs along side the Parkway under the shade of the trees. I choose the patio & indulged in a Flat Croissant & on another occassion, the Mille-Feuille creme patissiere & also treated myself to the Croque-Monsieur sandwich complimented with a side salad which was a match made in heaven! All while I enjoyed sipping on a Cappuccino & also sampled the Cafe Latte. Unfortunately, my spoken French is not at the level I would like it to be, but the staff were accomodating & "Mo", heightened my overall experience with his genuine kindness, care, thoughtful suggestions & welcoming sense of humor! I have already made plans to return to Montreal in the next month just so I can revisit the menu at Duc De Lorraine, which I am confident will not disappoint!!!!! Merci Beaucoup mes Amies! Until next time.............
The pastries were outstanding. Been wanting to try to croissant roll for a while now, & it did not disappoint. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area for lunch as the food the waiters were carrying looked amazing. I give the pastries a 9.2/10

Incredible place that provides excellent food & pastries especially their baked goods. They keep up with the trends & execute them well. This place is nothing short of fancy as the staff all dress & act well, the bathroom is clean & very nice & the decor is great too. Only minor issue is that it's a bit pricey but the baked goods are definitely worth the experience. Also to note, take out is cheaper then dine in so if cost is & issue there's a small solution. 100% worth the visit.
The pastries are a must try. Their croissants remind me of the ones I had in the south of France. If you're visiting the Oratory & you're looking for a coffee & pastry stop, Duc de Lorraine is your go-to 👌
What a cool place with amazing pastries! The best croissants we had on our visit, from the regular croissant to the flavored croissants! It was quite busy but everyone was courteous & warmed up the pastries so we could enjoy them outside
Nice counter with tons of options even later in the day. Pastries were okay. They are priced on the higher end of the scale & there are a lot of better French pastries in Montreal that are also cheaper.
Always love going here. The service is amazing (thank you, Andréa! 😊). The food is top notch! Cannot recommend this place enough! If you love great pastries, this is the place for you!
