This gnocchi is a must try if you're in the area! The tomato sauce is creamy & one of a kind. Although eating pasta with chopsticks sounds weird, it actually really works! Only downside is long(ish) line outside, but it's very reasonable considering how amazing it is.

Edit: 2 years later & still the same great taste at the same great price $5 for a box of gnocchi you're unlikely to forget Simple & delicious gnocchi, tomato sauce. Just one thing & that one thing done right
For $5 gnocchi, it's pretty good. But you can't step inside the store for some reason & they give you a lot of sass about it. It's nothing super special, but the tomato sauce is fresh & the gnocchi is good for what it is.
For five bucks, this place is beyond worth it. An entire Chinese takeout box of gnocchi with tomato sauce & option of additional cheese &/or red pepper flakes! It's the only thing they serve, & they get it RIGHT. Pillowy soft & petite gnocchis. Super saucy, which I prefer. Do not skip this food counter as part of your Mile End Fairmount Ave tour!
Just potato dough balls in a very basic tomato sauce... stumbled onto this place thinking the line of people was for bagels... gave it a try & no big deal other than it is cheap... ate a few bites... then went to Wilenky for a real meal & dessert at theItalian place... plus I can eat out of the rain...
I bought gnocchi with cheese & hot pepper flakes & I loved it, the tomato sauce is delicious. Just be careful & let them cool a little, because they are really hot.
Very delicious & affordable gnocchi. Add an additional 1$ for extra cheese on gnocchi seems a bit too much. But the tomato sauce had the right balance of acidity to it & the gnocchi were perfectly cooked.

He could certainly charge $8 & still have a line up but his commitment to keeping it at $5 certainly has my support & it will always
be my list of places to visit in Montreal!

Planned the trip for the bagel next door, attracted by the smell from here. Now my family only purchase tomato sauce from their online store. BTW we live in New York City :) so happy they ship to the States too.
Decadently yummy gnocchi in a simple yet delicious tomato sauce. Had it with extra chili flakes for that extra kick & was not disappointed!
Expect to queue for a bit as it's the perfect food to go on a sunny day to eat in a nearby park
Tip: don't hesitate to buy a bagel from the shop next door to sauce on the remaining tomato
