What could be better than a box of pillowy soft gnocchi smothered in homemade tomato sauce? 🍅 Settle yourself onto a bench nearby & watch the neighbourhood go about its business while you eat. Delicious!
Cute hole in the wall place! Came here for the $5 Gnocci. Add 1.50 & you get chili flakes & Parmesan cheese.
It's the best thing I've eaten since my Grade 4 teacher's rigatoni sauce. I remember eating it as a kid, & even after all these years I still crave it & I'm glad I found this on my trip to Montreal cause it was nostalgic lol
They take cash or Canadian debit only.
The sauce doesn't work for me. Keep it simple, throw on some fresh pomodoro & basil & call it a day
Pillowy soft, Nonna-approved, & famously $5. 🍝✨
If you've walked through the Mile End, you've definitely smelled the garlic & tomatoes wafting from the iconic window of Drogheria Fine. There is something so satisfying about holding that warm white carton (usually reserved for Chinese takeout!) filled with the most comforting gnocchi in Montreal.
Did you know? The gnocchi wasn't actually the original plan! Drogheria Fine opened as a simple grocer to sell their family's authentic Calabrian tomato sauce. The gnocchi window was only started as a'tasting station' to help promote the sauce. It became such a massive hit that it turned into the legendary Montreal staple we know & love today. 🍅❤?
Whether you like yours with a little extra kick of chili or a mountain of parmesan, it's a must-stop every single time.

Ce n'est évidemment pas les meilleurs gnocchis que vous allez manger, mais pour 5$, avoir un bonne portion réconfortante de gnocchis dans une bonne sauce, c'est impossible à battre.
Like everyone has been saying, you just can't beat the price. The box is small but mighty as it surprisingly is able to contain plenty of gnocchi. There is no indoor seating but there are public benches outside. The sauce is not my favourite but it's still an overall good snack . When I come back I'll try to bring some cheese or cured meats to eat on the side!
Absolutely loved Drogheria Fine! The place has a simple, authentic charm & serves some of the best gnocchi in Montreal. The tomato sauce is rich, comforting, & full of flavor, & the portions are generous for the price. Service is quick & friendly, making it a perfect spot for a casual yet satisfying meal. A must-visit if you're in Montreal: simple food done exceptionally well!
The sauce is quite salty but its hot while sitting outside in winter time.
i really don't get the hype. the sauce is quite bad - it tastes very similar to a can of Campbell's SpaghettiOs. the place is visually charming, though.
Honestly? The gnocchi is good, it's the sauce that's pretty bland. It's too sour! There's a bit of an indecipherable aftertaste too. It tastes like cheap store bought pasta sauce unfortunately. Improved by the spice, but not by much.
I keep coming back because it's hard to beat a hearty $5 meal! It warms you right up on a cold autumn day. But it's by no means stellar.
Service is always amazing though, really nice people. & there's seating nearby which is great bc it's no food indoors
Would love to see a vegan cheese option! Also would be nice if the toppings could be sandwiched into the gnocchi, so the whole thing is spiced/cheesy & not just the top
C'est vraiment bon la sauce est incroyable mais 2 fois que je vien avant la fermeture qui est de 18h normalement je suis venu vers 17h & cest ferme
Really good gnocchis, tasty sauce just needed more cheese but that's on the personal note.
Really good service as well !
Highly overrated. I still don't understand what's the hype about. Apart from the price, which is honestly cheap, & the nice, kind staff, the gnocchis themselves are ordinary. & the sauce is below average, too acidic & oily with no distinct taste or flavor.
This place serves only Gnocci, sauce + cheese or chilli flakes.
HOWEVER, THE DISH IS YUMM!
The place is like a'hole in the wall'. There is NO'inside' seating.
If you wish to eat at the place, there are a couple benches on the sidewalk to & eat.
But the Gnocci is good!
The Gnocci is served in a' Chinese take-out' style container. The only difference between'take away' &'dine-in', is the closed lid on the containers.
But the Gnocci is so good!
They sell the sauce in bottles. This can be used for other types of pasta at home.
Did I mention that Gnocci was so good? Yes it was!
For the taste & quantity, I beleive, the Gnocci is a great value for the money.
The Gnocci was so good!
I don't understand the hype of this place. We took gnocchi with cheese for around 6$ & the sauce was really sour. It was hard to finish. The gnocchi were ok.
We were brought here as part of a food tour on the Montreal Mile End. The gnocchi + tomato sauce was really delicious & for the price nothing can be beat!
We wouldn't have heard about this place had it not been for our tour guide Eric so we were glad to have it as a stop on the tour. There was a large lineup outside (there is no seating inside) but it seemed to be moving quickly.
They don't accept credit - cash or Interac only!
