Gem we discovered thanks to some recommendations from strangers! The smaller setting made for a really great intimate atmosphere where my friends & I could chat easily. We were seated at the bar (last minute reservation on a Saturday), but they thoughtfully gave us a corner to face each other. We also had a great time talking to the staff! We went for the tasting menu & wine pairing, & thoroughly enjoyed all of it! The mushroom dessert was a pleasant surprise.

10/10 food, drink parings, experience

For such a small team the quality being sent out is impressive. The dishes are fun, balanced, & well thought out. All the wine pairings complemented the dish in their own way while still standing out alone. Service went smoothly.

The only criticism is that I wish the dessert menu was more robust. There were good fresh & palate cleansing dishes but for me, it was missing something more rich or decadent to end the meal.

It was an absolute pleasure to dine here & I can't wait to be back & see what new things the team does.

Incredible meal - superb, unpretentious service & atmosphere; flawless food; wonderful & affordable wines. The duck heart tartare was the best dish we've had in the city.

Great food & service, Fred is an amazing host & server. We let him & the chef decided our meal for us & it was sensational. Fresh & clean ingredients made the meal amazing, paired with some nice wines, must try the homemade bread . Greatly recommend.

A fantastic meal all around. Everything was prepared to perfection, & the flavors, textures & presentation were all excellent. Comprehensive wine list, & the waiter / sommelier was very knowledgeable & friendly.

The food was free deeeeelicious! We went there as a group of 8. Since we contacted them in advance, they were able to prepare a menu with wine pairing & it was very well thought of. The service was great. The sommelier was super knowledgeable & personable. A great find :)

We sat at the bar of this unpretentious welcoming small restaurant. The wine list is diverse & it was beautifully served with passion & attention. If you closely look at the menu, you realized how much effort was put into using local winter produces. Every plate was spot on, classic but in a better way, so comforting, bold. I highly recommend the leeks, they were truly iconic. The staff was so warm & welcoming, we instantly felt their passion. One of the best meals I had in a long time - longue vie Chez Jean-Paul!

Tout les plats qui nous avons goûtés étaient délicieux. Le chef Isaël a décidément tous les talents. Ses plats sont créatifs & bien équilibrés (saveurs, textures & produits très frais). Grand coup de coeur pour les pétoncles en crudo & le consommé & pâtes farcies de foie gras. Local sympathique & déco épurée, ambiance chaleureuse.

Nous comprenons que vous êtes en rodage & que les critiques constructives vous aideront à mieux connaître ce qui rendra d'expérience au bar déjà extra encore plus mémorable. En voici une: ce serait très bien qu'il ait une carte des vins au verre avec une recommandation style « wine pairing » & un menu apéro. Lâchez-vous lousse dans l'utilisation du mur derrière le bar... go! 😉😅🫶🍸
