Solid poutine & even better ambience.

This place feels like you're in a call of duty modern warfare map. Eerily retro & well kept. no music. You shush up when you eat your poutine round here.

Ive been hearing about Gerard for a couple of years & this was my first visit. The TikTok comments have since let me know that I went to the wrong one. who gives a crap. The other one doesn't look nearly as vibey.

Anyways, I'm not a big fan of fat soggy wet Quebec fries. I'm more of a thin crispy guy. For reference, my favourite poutine in Montreal is Patati patata. However! For a Quebec poutine this was very good. Delicious gravy & the cheese curd held its integrity right to the bottom of the tray.

Worth visiting this location for the aesthetic!

Tried this Chez Girard for the first time & really was not impressed with the food. We had a Hamburger & two Steamed hot dogs & a fries. I am pretty sure the hamburger was previously frozen, & that's why only a two star for the food, the burger's texture was strange. The bun totally flattened out when held. The hot dogs were ok but other spots are much better. Small portion of fries which were so so. The service was fast but not pleasant. The gentleman behind the counter was very unfriendly, that's why only 2 stars for service. The restaurant is very clean & bright, with a 60's vibe. Very comfortable. Hot Dogs-7/10 Hamburger 2/10 French Fries 5/10

One of my favorite spot for a burger in laval, service is a bit rough & moody at times, but once you get used to it, once you understand & it's almost cute... Fries are very good too... ( in my top 20 & I would not describe them as saggy as mentioned here before) The place look stucked in time & has its charm too. It is worth the detour if you are in laval
