The place looks cozy, there is a colorful backyard with cute little elements put together, nothing authentic but still cute. We had 2 sandwiches, Olympic 76, & triplex something, really bad Sadwiches, & I mean BAD (tastes bad, too much runny sauce, everything falls off the sandwich, & worst of all just one type of stale bread for all) & quite expensive for the portion & quality. Service was ok, but remember you are not allowed to use your laptop in the Terrrase area, because the owner has said so! I asked one of the waiters & she said people using laptops tend to stay longer which makes sense but why not saying you can't stay more than 60 min or whatever instead of saying you are not allowed to open your laptop here? That doesn't seem reasonable or friendly specially for a casual coffeshop. But later the waiter found us a table inside with cable which was nice. We also tried the classic cheese cake, too sweet & average. Overal won't be going back & mainly because of food.
Fabulous sandwiches & soups The Triplex is a great combination of tastes... Only blah thing.... No coordination with kitchen../ Got the Sandwich before the soup....-& ordered 2 coffee's & dessert .... We finished dessert almost before getting the coffee Not your common resto ettiquette Staff was amazing & so on, just needs little tweeks... But an outstanding place to come & enjoy 12 months a year , always fresh & healthy combo's..

The sandwiches at santropol never miss ! Ile des piments is my go to & probably their best to me, I tried their spiced apple juice also which is just perfect to start up fall 🍎 love the way everything looks & the kinda eclectic decor the servers are also very nice
I was really excited to try this place but in the end, I was pretty disappointed. The menu isn't clear about what's vegan or not. They didn't have the macncheese nor tempeh or avocado so we basically ordered 3 items & they came 10 or 15 min later to tell us that they were actually out of 2 out of 3 things we ordered... I did like the chaucer sandwich, bread was super fresh. Vegan cheesecake was also delicious. I wouldn't go back tho.
Une très belle adresse que j'ai découvert par hasard pendant mes balades! Une belle pause bucolique avec le petit jardin. Personnel très accueillant & excellent sandwich.
Les sandwichs sont très bons malgré une attente assez longue devant le restaurant & une fois assis. C'est à nous de faire un signe au bout de 15min aux serveurs pour qu'ils daignent venir prendre notre commande. Le service semble être pas très organisé & peu énergique. Peut être un jour sans...

The best sandwiches that I dream of between visits 💭 Get the triplex saint urbain if you are hungry & really want to be wowed! Backyard garden/terrace is a must, when the weather allows.
My favorite place in Montreal! The food is incredible (especially the CBLT Sandwich & the cheesecake!) & the location is also wonderful. It's very calming & it's got an alternative, maximalist vibe. Love it!!
Great service, atmosphere & tasty food! I came here yesterday with a friend & we had the hot pepper jelly sandwich with chicken salad. We also ordered a couple of cold homemade drinks! Excellent! (Bring back the mango spread 🥲💔)
L'une des plus belles terrasses de Montréal, l'intérieur est superbement décoré également. J'y vais depuis une quinzaine d'années & le menu n'a pas vraiment changé, une sélection de nouveaux sandwichs serait intéressant. Les serveurs/serveuses sont généralement sympathiques. Je recommande fortement les sandwich CBLT & Tomate meurtrière ainsi que le Chili végétarien. J'y reviendrai toujours!

A wonderful little cafe with a big beautiful garden. They have a nice array of vegetarian options including the largest & most interesting sandwich I have ever seen. We had the vegetarian chili & it was excellent.
Aussi insaisissable qu'un pain de savon sous la douche, une famille d'amis de l'église à qui je relance assidument des invitations à un bon repas après le service n'y ont pas encore donner suite en dépit de leurs intentions réitérées. Ce dimanche-ci non plus, notre plan (ou : le mien) dont l'établissement remontait à deux semaines plus tôt ne s'est pas concrétisé, mais rien de moins grave ! En premier lieu, il n'y a absolument aucune presse & je garde bon espoir quant à sa réalisation prochaine. En second lieu, il y a un rapprochement, lent, mais sûr, qui s'effectue à peu près chaque jour du Seigneur & je leur ai préparé l'une de mes grandes spécialités, des scones, pour qu'ils pensent à moi avec bonheur pendant la semaine. Stratégie, stratégie ! Pour cette virée au Café Santropol, j'ai donc eu le bonheur d'être convoyé par K. que vous connaissez, cette amie comme un don du ciel toujours partante pour une excursion culinaire. Dans le décor montréalais depuis plus de cinquante ans (1976) à coups de pédales du parc Jeanne-Mance, l'établissement jouit d'une terrasse, aux couleurs vives, bien à l'ombre sous un couvert végétal qui offre un rare, voire unique contact avec la nature en milieu urbain. Ce havre verdoyant s'impose comme leur argument phare, sans pour autant éclipser l'intérieur, dont le charme d'antan & éclectique nous captive tout autant. Les clients, paisibles & enjoués, contribuent à l'impression de sérénité qui se dégage de l'endroit. Des oiseaux pointent leur bec en espérant récolter quelques miettes. Sur le menu, les sandwichs au fromage à la crème sont à l'honneur & nous avons opté pour le plat du jour, le Santropol, au fromage bleu & un second recommandé par notre serveuse (qui s'est volatilisée par la suite), le triplex Saint-Urbain avec noix de Grenoble & miel. Pour faire glisser le tout, un gaspacho & un frappé à l'espresso sont venus garnir notre table. Un sandwich par personne, & même un pour deux pour les petits appétits, devrait faire votre affaire. Celui-ci se présente devant nous, énorme, encadré par deux tranches d'un moelleux & frais pain brun maison, rempli de bonnes intentions, mais sans marquer notre imagination. Ils ont beau être bourrés de fromage, ils m'apparaissent banals, manquant d'élaboration & d'éclat, un brin figé dans le temps. À notre humble avis, K. & moi croyons que cette observation s'étend également au gaspacho, elle qui n'en a pris qu'une cuillerée & moi qui, fait rare, ne l'a pas fini. Seul le frappé à l'espresso a apporté un peu plus de contentement à nos palais assoiffés par cette étouffante chaleur estivale. En l'espace de trente secondes, il ne restait que le quart du liquide dans le petit récipient conique. Côté réjouissant, la promptitude de la préparation des mets en cuisine contrebalance l'attente initiale, qui peut s'étirer sur dix à quinze minutes à l'extérieur. Néanmoins, le service est demeuré effacé : on n'a plus prêté attention à notre emplacement jusqu'à ce que soit venu le temps de dégreyer. Pour conclure, dans l'éventualité où l'appel de ce havre de fraîcheur se faisait à nouveau entendre, je me contenterais sans peine d'une boisson seule & d'une bonne conversation, bien qu'un dîner pour deux ne franchisse guère le seuil de l'abordabilité : 45 $ pour deux, à l'exclusion du pourboire.
I recently visited Cafe Santropol & had a mixed experience. While the sandwich I got for takeout was quite tasty, the service left much to be desired. The person at the cash register was lacking in politeness, forgot a part of my collegue's order & even expressed that I should give a tip for any takeout . This made me feel uncomfortable & overshadowed. Overall, Santropol has potential - it is a very nice place!, but the service needs improvement. A little more professionalism from the staff would make a big difference in the customer experience.
I got a seat outside & the garden was really pretty & the sun was out too. The sandwiches were also bigger than I thought. I also ordered the chai santropol (iced) i like it, the spices just hit the back of your throat. All staffs were super attentive & everytime I threw a smile at them, they smiled back.
