Ça serait un total mensonge si je vous disais que mes expériences au café Santropol n'étaient pas des plus mémorables. Ici, je ne parle pas seulement de l'ambiance, de la nourriture, des amis qu'on s'est faits, des découvertes auxquelles on a été apportés, de la beauté qu'on a pu observer, de la faune & la flore qui se trouvent en toute expansion, de la méditation à laquelle on a été introduits, mais je parle aussi de la communauté, de l'amour, de la compréhension & de la paix qui règne dans cette 🔚 droit. Je conseille le chai, il est plutôt corsé.

Nous avons attendu 1 heure & quart avant de recevoir notre commande sans que personne ne daigne venir nous voir. Les sandwich pour enfant sont 2 tranches de pain avec une tranche de fromage ou jambon, sans mayo ou beurre pour 8 $. & quand j'ai gentiment dit au serveur que l'attente etait inacceptable & le sandwich décevant, ils a gardé le silence, ne s'est pas excusé & m'a tendu le truc pour payer. J'ai rarement eu un service à la clientèle aussi mauvais.

Cute & cozy place for a café. I had heard about the café on social media so I really wanted to try it. A bit pricey, but overall a nice place with threes & plants & lovely terrasse in the back.

The food was otherwise fresh & well made, but - - - I mentioned allergies to the server who assured me my meal was safe. I had to pop a Benadryl to handle the allergic reaction I had. The server also dropped part of my salad onto the floor as my plate made it to the table. I got an amused apology, but no replacement. Also, we waited ages for wait staff to return to the table (water for me to take my pill, my friend wanted to order dessert) & we had to leave our table twice to ask for wait staff to come. The staff is pleasant, but abysmal. The whole experience was surreal.

The most delicious sandwiches I've had in my life!!! So generously portioned. Loved the Duluth & the Avenue du Parc, & how many vegetarian options there were. The back garden is such a beautiful oasis! We came for a late lunch & there was still at least a 20 minute wait, but it was well worth it! The shop at the front has the cutest merch, including tote bags. Our server was very kind!

Good sandwich & a beautiful outdoor eating area. The line on the weekends can get a bit long, but overall it is a great spot!

TLDR: It's not what it once was. Service is now abominable!

A customer since 1989, we've never been treated so badly as our latest visit on Aug 12 2026. It wasn't busy, & lovely garden tables were available, but they jammed us into a busy corner anyway. Several tables who ordered long after us got their food first. We were seated around 7pm & our 2 simple sandwiches didn't arrive until maybe 7:50pm? No table check whatsoever. I had mentioned upfront I was looking forward to dessert, but they left us languishing until 8:30. Closing time. We could have just left without paying -- I honestly don't think anyone would have noticed or cared.

I can't figure out what we could have possibly said or done to upset the staff so much that they would seemingly go out of their way to ruin the first night of our vacation & a lifelong favourite destination filled with great memories. Gone.

Santropol's long been near the top of my what-to-do-in-Mtl recommendations, but those days are now done.

It's like an old friend has died. I'm angry.

This was last weekend, but I still wanted to leave a review.

I don't know the name of the woman who greeted us, but we arrived at 11:45 a.m. It was my husband's birthday. Nothing special, but I really wanted us to sit in the garden. All the tables were occupied, & I was quite disappointed.

About 15 minutes later, she found a spot for us. Thank you so much! You really saved our mood that day. ❤?
