My partner & I had the double espresso, mocha & tiramisu. Best we've ever had! The coffee was rich & smooth. The place was packed at 10 pm so we hit up the bar. We can't wait to come back on our next trip to Montreal. Thank you for helping us end off the night with coffee & dessert! We were lovers in paradise pumped for our next stop on our road trip :)
Cortado en espagnol veux dire cortar(to cut) & non court.
Un cortado est donc un espresso ((couper)) avec du lait & non un espresso corto ( court)
Cafe delicieux!
🇮🇹 A Sip of History in Old Montreal ☕✨
AStepping into Café Olimpico - Vieux-Montréal feels like a quick trip to Rome without leaving the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal. Whether you're an early bird catching the 6 AM sunrise or looking for a late-night espresso fix, this spot delivers that perfect European vibe every time.
Did you know? While this stunning location is a neighborhood favorite, the Olimpico legacy actually began in 1970 when founder Rocco Furfaro opened the original shop in Mile End just so he'd have a place to watch soccer games with his friends! ⚽? Today, they still serve that same secret family blend of six different beans that has made them a global coffee landmark.
Grab a cannoli, snag a window seat, & watch the world go by in the heart of the Old Port. 🥐🏛?

To be honest, I thought I was crazy when I took a sip of this coffee & thought'really? This is what people say is the best coffee in Montreal?' Everyone else in the cafe was exclaiming how wonderful it was. The espresso is a bold Italian roast that leans heavily towards burnt & bitter, with an ascorbic aftertaste. I would choose all antonyms of smooth to describe the mouth feel. Sadly the pastries didn't look too much better. Sad squished crossiants & soggy doughnuts did not tempt me enough to purchase them. Although the cannoli & tiramisu looked delicious!
The edible aspects of Cafe Olympico left much to be desired, but the staff were great! Kind, funny, patient with tourists, & generous with their welcoming attitude. It's a funky cafe with classic charm & an infectious energy of welcome that would keep folks coming back.
Overall, the coffee wasn't that great, the food sub-par, but that atmosphere was delightful & the staff were fantastic.
One of those places where you finally make it to the front of line, you just get it. Having tried their espresso I can confidently say it is one of the best in Canada.
I was genuinely blown away by the richness & exquisiteness of the roast & extraction 😍 & the vibe is just so cosy & quintessentially old port.
I was shocked how hard it was to find a coffee shop other than Dunkin open at 6am. Thankfully I came across this place that I had walked by the night prior. Short line, single person staffing shop, but he was on it. Clearly this was a place where locals come as he had orders being made as he saw people coming up & was talking to a few of them. Very friendly & very efficient. A couple good pastry options. My espresso came out pretty quick & was perfect. Temperature wasn't blistering hot, it was smooth, & just perfect to start my day. If you are an early riser, or just like coffee I would definitely check this place out.
I recently visited Caffè Glacè at Olympico Café in Old Port Montreal, & it was an outstanding experience that I can't wait to share. The atmosphere is vibrant & welcoming, blending a cozy café vibe with a touch of urban energy. It's a perfect spot to relax & soak in the local culture.
The highlight of my visit was, without a doubt, the delicious coffee. Their specialty drinks are expertly crafted, & I particularly enjoyed their signature espresso, which was rich & flavorful. The baristas are knowledgeable & passionate about their craft, offering great recommendations & ensuring that every cup is made to perfection.
What truly sets Caffè Glacè apart is the delightful selection of pastries & light bites. I indulged in a fresh pastry that paired perfectly with my coffee, & it was simply divine. The combination of quality ingredients & attention to detail shines through in every item on the menu.
The location in Old Port adds to the charm, as it's surrounded by beautiful scenery & bustling streets. Overall, Caffè Glacè at Olympico Café is a gem in Montreal. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for exceptional coffee & a warm, inviting atmosphere. I can't wait to return!
Such a cute & cozy café! I tried the pistachio affogato, croissant, & tiramisu - all delicious.
The classic espresso & desserts were spot on, & the staff were very friendly. Seating is limited inside, so it's a great spot to grab a coffee while exploring the area. Love it?
Just a simple simple cafe with friendly staff & great baked goods! Defs Check them out when visiting coffee, espresso, baked treats What more could you need to help start your day!
Ok espresso, but served in paper cups? Pear Ricotta cake served in a takeout box. Sports bar atmosphere. & you want tips?
Had a strong delicious double espresso & 2 bombolinis. Loved it. Atmosphere is fantastic. Great place to start your morning in Old Montreal. Going back tomorrow!
A Must-Visit for Coffee Lovers!
As a tourist in Montreal, I had about five days to hit up as many cafés & restaurants as I could. Café Olimpico kept popping up in TikTok recommendations, & while I'm usually skeptical of viral spots, curiosity got the best of me-& I'm so glad it did.
I ordered an affogato because I wanted to try something new that I don't usually get at cafés, & I love ice cream. It exceeded my expectations. I've honestly been thinking about that drink at least once a day since. The espresso-flavoured ice cream was amazing-not too sweet or overpowering, which I really appreciated-& the espresso itself stood out with bold, smooth flavour.
The day before, I'd gone to another hyped café where the coffee tasted burnt, so I wasn't expecting much. But this? Café Olimpico impressed me. I genuinely wish I had brought some coffee beans back with me.
The interior was cozy, welcoming, & full of character-the kind of place you just want to sit & take it all in. If I lived nearby, I know I'd be stopping in at least once every couple of weeks.
Stumbled on Olimpico by accident in old Montreal. The cappuccino was good with a dusting of chocolate & the espresso soft serve was worth it even on a -11 day.
There is nothing like grabbing an authentic Italian coffee Crema after dinner.
The vibe is always crazy in this local coffee shop. People love to hang around.
I invited my coworkers from the US & they loved it. Whether you try their delicious Nutella croissant, fresh cannoli or just an espresso, you will want to have another one !
I was just going to settle for a regular coffee but the employee who took my order said he wanted to make sure I liked my drink & recommended the Remix - a mix of hot & cold. I wouldn't normally have cold coffee in January but figured why not. I took my order to go, & I'm so glad I got it! The espresso flavour was great & the drink had the right amount of sweetness. Because it was so cold outside, I think it kept the drink at a nice consistency & it maintained a smooth texture. Thanks for the recommendation!
