Review Summary

Café Noya comes across as a cozy, casual udon cafe in downtown Montreal that fits studying or casual meals. The menu centers on udon and onigiri, with beef udon and creamy miso mushroom udon among the popular bowls, plus flavorful onigiri such as unagi and salmon; several notes mention rich broths and chewy noodles, though some dishes are criticized for being bland or undersauced and portions can feel small for the price. The drinks and desserts, especially matcha based options and mochi, are often highlighted as standout items and a welcome complement to the savory bowls. The service is described as friendly and efficient when not too busy, but a few reviews report slower service, inconsistent knowledge about Japanese dishes, or hiccups with order accuracy. The space is repeatedly praised for its cute, welcoming vibe and good atmosphere for studying or hanging out, while a few comments mention it feeling cold or busy and noisy at times. Overall, the place is seen as a reliable go to for satisfying udon and onigiri with quality matcha and pleasant staff, with some room for value improvements and portion sizes.

Restaurant très mignon, mais le curry goûtait bizarre & le poulet aussi.

Our family was visiting Montreal for first time & this place was right next to our hotel. The venue itself looked amazing & very friendly. Unfortunately, it was just just the opposite
Veggie curry udon tasted really bad with hardly any veggies in there & the beef dish barely had any beef . It was a total rip off
The dessert (brownie) was very dry , old & burnt-

The onigiri & matcha were fantastic! The curry tastes great, but the portion is on the smaller side for North American standards. Unfortunately, the lady taking our order didn't seem in the best of moods, which is understandable because we all have our days, but we truly felt like we were bothering her just by being here. I liked the food so much I wanted to order some again to take back home, but I felt almost reluctant to go to the counter. I wish that hadn't been the case : (

Great atmosphere, friendly staff & superb service.
I had the tempura onigiri & it came with the rice still warm.
I also got the curry udon with extra beef & the noodles had the perfect bounciness to them & the curry was just spicy enough.

With a drink, came to a total of about 34$
