Discovered the cafe & tried the mango matcha, it was delicious so I decided to come back! Sadly the second time I ordered they did my order completely wrong :( I gave it a second chance since I really liked the food (despite not being what I asked for) & this time everything was perfect & tasty, the udon creamy mushrooms it's delicious as well as their mochis !!
You're telling me I can get katsu curry & a matcha at 10am over here? Yea they're the goats 🐐
had the beef udon. it's just service was slow. will come back to try the matcha
Had such a great experience at Café Noya in Montreal. The atmosphere was super cozy, the food was fresh & comforting, & the matcha drinks were amazing. Our female server was also incredibly sweet & attentive, which made the whole experience even better. You can really tell the staff care about creating a welcoming vibe. Definitely a spot I'd come back to whenever I'm in Montreal!
Went here for lunch & the food was really good!! We love the udon & matcha & service was super fast. Our server Mai was super friendly & attentive! Will come back for sure :)
definitely gets busy right around 12 in the afternoon as a bunch of students come to get lunch or matcha drinks. so we did have to wait a while to order as they also don't have much staff during that time. the onigiri have a nice texture with the seaweed. I personally loved the miso & mushroom udon, it tasted like a creamy mac & cream.
Ordered the omurice through Skip & was pretty disappointed. What we received was essentially a fried egg placed on top of rice, not the style of omurice shown on their Instagram or what people would expect when ordering omurice.
The edges were heavily browned/crispy & the dish looked very different from their promotional videos on Instagram (ie: arethaeats). The beef udon & matcha latte were not as bad; however, clearly lacked flavour. It tasted very watered down.
I emailed the restaurant first to ask about it & didn't receive a response, so unfortunately I'm leaving this review instead.
I can't say any of the dishes were interesting. We had high hopes for the miso mushroom udon which was recommended but it really did not taste like much other than cream, it was also a very small portion for its price.
Spicy chicken don was okay but I wasn't expecting kimchi in a Japanese dish, I would have gotten something else.
Lastly, we had dango & matcha ice cream which were okay.
The chicken katsu onigiri is a nice addition to the menu, the meat is so good I need more!! The homemade matcha cookie was lovely too. It had the right level of sweetness.
However, service was extremely slow despite being one of the few customers waiting for their order. Also, the strawberry/litchi tea was terrible 🥀
