Review Summary

Café Le Nigiriz stands out for a cozy, stylish Japanese cafe vibe with a focus on fresh onigiri and a menu that invites tasting a variety of creative flavors. Onigiri are prepared to order with fresh ingredients and a range of inventive fillings such as spicy tuna, yuzu mentaiko, grilled salmon and egg. The atmosphere is described as warm and inviting, with pennies embedded in the floor and occasional heart shaped onigiri during holidays. The drinks are a highlight for many, with matcha latte, hojicha latte and kinako latte praised for flavor. Service and value receive mixed feedback, some reviewers finding the staff friendly while others note slower service or gaps in hospitality and long takeout waits. A few reviews mention salty onigiri or that the price does not always align with flavor when compared with nearby kiosks. Overall, Café Le Nigiriz comes across as a hidden gem for onigiri lovers, a place to linger for a relaxing snack or a small date, and a spot to return to for new flavors and experiences.

This coffee shop specializes in onigiri, & the atmosphere is definitely a strong point. It's stylish, cozy, & well thought out - the coin-covered floor is a standout detail & very cool.

As for the food, it's average. For the same price, you can find onigiri at a kiosk near McGill that may not have the same hype or aesthetic, but offers more flavor & much more generous fillings.

I tried three onigiri: breaded chicken, egg, & tuna with mayonnaise. The breaded chicken was my favorite, followed by the tuna. The egg one came last for me.

I'd recommend trying it at least once, especially if you appreciate a nice atmosphere. That said, I wouldn't go back on my own, as flavor matters more to me than a cool setting.

We had an onigiri craving (again) & followed it straight here, & honestly? Zero regrets. The place is wonderfully cozy. The menu is packed with creative flavors, & the ones we tried - spicy tuna & sun-dried tomato - were genuinely excellent: super fresh, well-balanced, & dangerously easy to inhale.

Bonus points for the Valentine's Day chaos: they're shaping the onigiri like little hearts until then. Yes, it's corny. Yes, it's adorable. & yes, we are absolutely here for it. I paired mine with a hojicha latte, which was smooth, comforting, & quietly doing its job very well.

Also worth mentioning: the pennies embedded in the floor, which is such a fun, quirky detail.

All in all, carbs can be cute, cozy, & emotionally supportive. We'll be back. Probably soon. 🍙💛

The freshest onigiri I've ever had since in Japan I eat them generally out of a konbini! They make them to order here. These onigiri were so tasty & very adventurous in their flavors. An absolute must stop for any onigiri lover.

Café le NIGIRIZ offers a delightful snacking experience with perfectly textured rice triangles, a variety of flavors, & affordable prices. The low-key, cozy atmosphere adds to its charm, while the miso soup & sides complement the Onigiris beautifully. Don't miss the ginger honey cookie-soft, flavorful, & absolutely irresistible!

Cute little corner restaurant with tasty combinations of flavors. 😊 Nice little area outside in the neighborhood.

Best hojicha latte I've ever had. It was so thick, nutty/tasty flavor, not too sweet. It almost reminded me of a Korean multigrain drink. Loved that they had an option for oat milk as well. The matcha biscuit had a pleasantly strong matcha flavor.

This place was ultra cute & the folks working here were so nice. The woman putting together the orders was very sweet & took the time to explain the flavors to the people in front of us in line. We got the tuna, salmon, & karage ones & they were great. The rice was perfectly paired with the Hojicha latte. All in all delicious. We got one mystery flavor: It was delicious!!! We will definitely be back!
