Overall, Café Le Nigiriz feels like a cozy, stylish spot where onigiri are the highlight and made to order with fresh ingredients. The menu runs from spicy tuna and yuzu mentaiko to grilled salmon and tuna mayo, and reviewers praise the onigiri for flavor and artful presentation, while hojicha latte, matcha latte and kinako latte are often described as comforting standouts. The atmosphere and small design details, like the floor of coins, are frequently cited as a draw, and staff are commonly described as friendly and attentive, though a few visits note slow service or moments of less warmth. Some comments question value for money or portion size compared with nearby options, but many guests say the cafe is a charming, memorable stop for a relaxed Japanese snack and a good drink, with plans to return.
YVR foodie tourist here. I happened to stumble upon this cute shop specializing in onigiri after having Schwartz 😂. I ordered the Tuna Mayo & Matcha Latte. I really like their aesthetic & how they present their onigiri's.
Such a cozy atmosphere & their Onigiri were so good! I got the diable & the Ajitawa Onigiri with a Hojicha latte. & I must say, the Hojicha latte was amazing, I am happy I tried it out💙
This coffee shop specializes in onigiri, & the atmosphere is definitely a strong point. It's stylish, cozy, & well thought out - the coin-covered floor is a standout detail & very cool.
As for the food, it's average. For the same price, you can find onigiri at a kiosk near McGill that may not have the same hype or aesthetic, but offers more flavor & much more generous fillings.
I tried three onigiri: breaded chicken, egg, & tuna with mayonnaise. The breaded chicken was my favorite, followed by the tuna. The egg one came last for me.
I'd recommend trying it at least once, especially if you appreciate a nice atmosphere. That said, I wouldn't go back on my own, as flavor matters more to me than a cool setting.
We had an onigiri craving (again) & followed it straight here, & honestly? Zero regrets. The place is wonderfully cozy. The menu is packed with creative flavors, & the ones we tried - spicy tuna & sun-dried tomato - were genuinely excellent: super fresh, well-balanced, & dangerously easy to inhale.
Bonus points for the Valentine's Day chaos: they're shaping the onigiri like little hearts until then. Yes, it's corny. Yes, it's adorable. & yes, we are absolutely here for it. I paired mine with a hojicha latte, which was smooth, comforting, & quietly doing its job very well.
Also worth mentioning: the pennies embedded in the floor, which is such a fun, quirky detail.
All in all, carbs can be cute, cozy, & emotionally supportive. We'll be back. Probably soon. 🍙💛

Delicious onigiri, warm & rich lattes, chill atmosphere with great bgm (jp&en). Did I mention the floor is literally lined with pennies! Would definitely come back!

Small, with limited seating, but such a warm & cozy familial atmosphere. The food is savory & delicious & the service is inviting & hospitable. Would definitely come again!

Amazingly cozy ambiance. Service was good & the food was on par. I loved seeing the attention to detail the workers had about the food. I know the study hours are limited, but I would go with or without a laptop.
