Reviewers describe Café Différance as delivering excellent coffee across a range of styles from specialty and filter to seasonal blends, with favorites like the latte and flat white praised for being well prepared. The atmosphere is consistently described as cozy and inviting, and service is noted as quick and friendly, with seating considered comfortable. Pastries, cookies and scones receive high marks, with some cravings expressed for the scone and the cookies described as incredible. Some comments point out a small portion size as a drawback alongside a small space that is not ideal for laptop work, making it more suited to quick visits or takeout. There are remarks about value, such as an ice matcha latte that is good quality but pricey for its small size and low milk content. Consistent quality across the years is highlighted by several reviewers, and many say this is a favorite spot in the area for coffee lovers and dessert seekers alike. Overall the reviews paint Café Différance as a reliable, welcoming cafe that excels in coffee and sweets and provides a warm vibe, with a few caveats about space and price.
specialty coffee, filter & seasonal are all top class, service is quick & friendly, pastries are pretty good too! Consistent quality across the years as well.
Coming from Australia, I'm quite picky when it comes to my coffee, but Diff definitely knows whats up. Coffee & sweets are absolutely banging! I've tried a lot of places around the Old Montreal & this is my fav!
Great work guys:)
I looked up cafe's in the neighbourhood & this one came up so decided to give it a try. The food was delicious (I tried the breakfast burrito & the chocolate chip cookie). I would certainly visit again when I'm in Montreal.
