Café Chat L'Heureux is a welcoming, spacious cat cafe where resident cats roam freely and add a warm, relaxing vibe to a cozy space. Reviews praise friendly staff, solid coffee and desserts, vegetarian friendly options, and cats that are well cared for and often sociable, making it a hit with cat lovers and families. The experience is described as calming and enjoyable, though weekends can be crowded and noisy with longer waits for drinks or seating, and on some visits the cats' interaction time felt limited. Some diners mention slow service or variable cleanliness and price, often explained as supporting the cats, while others find the prices reasonable for the experience. A few emphasize supervising children around the cats to keep them comfortable. Overall, Café Chat L'Heureux is a charming spot to hang out with cats and enjoy drinks or light bites, with experiences that vary by day and crowd.
Amazing experience. People are writing bad reviews & ignoring the fact that unlike other cafes they are not charging entry fee to see cats & be with them.I am from Toronto & came here to visit the cute cafe as i love cats & i had an amazing experience. If you are visiting such cafe's don't expect you are going to get Tim Horton experience. Those are places that serve you pre made drinks & just warm up stuff. This is a local & busy cafe so service is expected to be slow.Obviously there is wait time & servers are trying their absolutely best. I went there & we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated as it was full & that's fine we understand. We got seated on sofa & there was a cute cat ( Laila) sleeping over there we petted her & she was just sleeping that was just so adorable. We also ordered latte & high five which was really good. Would definitely come back to this place when i visit Montreal next time. The service is slow so i would recommend people to be patient as the cafe was full & obviously the people who order first are supposed to be served first. I really had good time here & i saw four cats .
I was recently in this place & I didn't like it at all! The first thing I didn't like was that they make you take off your shoes before entering the hall, I partly understand this, but there are no conditions for this, a pile of shoes stands in front of the door, the floor is all wet, there is nowhere to take off your shoes normally, everyone throws shoes on top of each other, I saw a pair of slippers in the entire huge hall. It is cold in the hall, especially when it is -15 outside & you are sitting in the hall without shoes! The place is dirty & dusty, I noticed the glasses at the next table, it feels like they have never been washed! As for the food, we waited for our order for about 1 hour, & these were not some super complicated dishes! We ordered soup & a sandwich, honestly I don't understand why they took so long to prepare this soup, the soup from a can diluted with water & sprinkled with a little cheese on top, it tastes like this kind of soup! The sandwich is nothing special, it is sold with a salad of greens in which I got rotten ones leaves. There is nothing special about this establishment, I only saw two cute cats. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it!

Absolutely loved it! Went with a friend but I'd def go back with my girlfriend!!! The cats are lovely & super petting friendly & they love to sleep lmao. The coffee was good & somewhat not that expensive compared to some places I've been in Montreal. My only complaint is the parking, but yet again it's mid mtl so we went thankfully by metro. Also the service was a tiny long but yet again the place was pretty crowded for a Sunday, there was even a small line when we got there. Apart from that, amazing place! Would recommend!
If you love cats, this café is pure therapy! Friendly kittens, cozy vibes, & plenty of toys to play with. The cats roam freely & seem totally relaxed. I tried the coffee, sandwich & brownie-all delicious. Prices are bit high. Perfect spot to unwind with cats & enjoy good food. Highly recommend for a chill, fun experience. Plus, they make sure you wash your hands before petting the cats-a nice touch! My daughter had an absolute blast!

Amazing experience with the cats! They roam free & there are a few rules to avoid accidents, like no picking them up or bothering them when they're eating or drinking. Also, we need to wash our hands before coming inside. The not-so-good part involved people who don't know how to behave around cats, but there's nothing we can do about that. The prices are reasonable & the service is friendly! I recommend it!
Do not expect too much. This is overpriced café with lazy cats during the day they sleep & rarely show up on the floor. very little interaction with the customers.we came for the cats & we were disappointed. There is no variety of food. It's pricey, but it's tasty, I would not recommend to go there for the cat interaction.

So many cute & friendly cats!! The drinks were not great but I guess that's not the draw of the cafe ... XD. Super cozy, would recommend for cat lovers! 🐾
This was an adorable place. Loved the cats just roaming everywhere. We had Luna visit us while we had our Viennese Coffee, which I highly recommend. They come with little cat paw spoons. Would come back if we were ever in Montreal again.
Awesome! Maybe it's the kitties but the food was also great (I recommend the grilled cheese) If you're allergic to cats or startled by claw damage, probably not for you. If you love kitties definitely a must go!!
i've been there twice in the past year & had a great experience each time! the cats are very adorable & the overall atmosphere of the place is very cozy & comfy. the food (i had the grilled cheese) takes a little while to arrive (or maybe it's because i was STARVING during my visits) but it's well made & tastes very yummy! would 100% recommend for a little date with a friend on a warm sunny day if you both like cats & are looking for a quiet spot to hang out at.
Very cozy atmosphere & all the cats seemed like they were not stressed & were free to do whatever they pleased. I got the Cat Lady, the lemonade, & the brownie & they were amazing & good quality food at a reasonable price. Would recommend for anyone looking for a chill place to see cats with some good food.
The Happy Cat Café is delightful. The feline friends are socialized & friendly. The food & drinks are tasty (there are vegan options). The staff is great. There's even a cute boutique next door, where I purchased a whimsical cat themed T-shirt spoofing'Harry Potter'. I'd highly recommend you stop by the café during your next visit to Montréal. P.S. sorry for taking your shirt hanger - it slipped my mind.
