Café Chat L'Heureux is a welcoming, spacious cat cafe where resident cats roam freely and add a warm, relaxing vibe to a cozy space. Reviews praise friendly staff, solid coffee and desserts, vegetarian friendly options, and cats that are well cared for and often sociable, making it a hit with cat lovers and families. The experience is described as calming and enjoyable, though weekends can be crowded and noisy with longer waits for drinks or seating, and on some visits the cats' interaction time felt limited. Some diners mention slow service or variable cleanliness and price, often explained as supporting the cats, while others find the prices reasonable for the experience. A few emphasize supervising children around the cats to keep them comfortable. Overall, Café Chat L'Heureux is a charming spot to hang out with cats and enjoy drinks or light bites, with experiences that vary by day and crowd.
Amazing place if you like cats & yummy paninis. Drinks were good as well! The cats were friendly, sociable, although docile during parts of our visit which is fine (we'd all take a nap right now if we could as well). Would totally come here again!

Amazing experience. People are writing bad reviews & ignoring the fact that unlike other cafes they are not charging entry fee to see cats & be with them.I am from Toronto & came here to visit the cute cafe as i love cats & i had an amazing experience. If you are visiting such cafe's don't expect you are going to get Tim Horton experience. Those are places that serve you pre made drinks & just warm up stuff. This is a local & busy cafe so service is expected to be slow.Obviously there is wait time & servers are trying their absolutely best. I went there & we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated as it was full & that's fine we understand. We got seated on sofa & there was a cute cat ( Laila) sleeping over there we petted her & she was just sleeping that was just so adorable. We also ordered latte & high five which was really good. Would definitely come back to this place when i visit Montreal next time. The service is slow so i would recommend people to be patient as the cafe was full & obviously the people who order first are supposed to be served first. I really had good time here & i saw four cats .
Cute cafe with good drinks & food, but let's be honest...the cute kitties are the stars of the show. They're all unique & adorable. Coffee & food really was good though, too.
We visited on a Saturday afternoon & waited less than 10 minutes to get in. At first I was skeptical of the experience because they had only 7 cats & like 40 customers in the cafe, so the cat per customer was quite low. However, once we got our drinks & settled in, the vibe was actually quite lovely & some of the cats made their rounds across the room quite frequently. The vegan chocolate cookie dessert was more like a cake & quickly devoured by my nonvegan companion because it was so good. Overall a lovely experience. Great service too although we could tell they were understaffed.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this café. The owners are so kind & you can tell that they love the cats. I love all the artwork as well & the food & drinks are amazing. I love that you can eat in the same area as the cats as cat cafés in Toronto are a lot more strict, & the vibe seem to be very calm & chilling easy to take a nap or do some work. All the cats were so well-behaved & well taken care of.
Amazing experience with the cats! They roam free & there are a few rules to avoid accidents, like no picking them up or bothering them when they're eating or drinking. Also, we need to wash our hands before coming inside. The not-so-good part involved people who don't know how to behave around cats, but there's nothing we can do about that. The prices are reasonable & the service is friendly! I recommend it!
I don't quite know, what to think of this place There's a first entrance, so the cats can't run out, but that little room has a cat piss smell that takes you right away, Once inside, I thought it looked not well kept, there are lots of cats' ladders, shelves, bridges , scratching post & all, The cats seemed pretty chill (was after 6pm) But there's a lingering smell of not clean Not sure what is their process of cleaning every evening & during the day, But whatever it is, it doesn't seem enough I can understand the passion behind that place, but I don't understand how this place can fonction as a place that sells food & drinks in open containers It doesn't seem sanitary at all The cats go everywhere, chairs , tables, bridges above tables There is a door that separates the food preparation area from the cats , but there are so many cats, those hair, feces & all have to linger in the air I was accompanying someone, who picked the place, I just can't believe the health department lets that place serve food 🤷♀️ My final thoughts Smelly Murky Dirty
This is a cute cat cafe, with cats you can adopt & bring home. They have a cute coffee/tea menu, as well as some small bites. It does smell a bit inside, & the cat hair will fly into your drink/food. The cats are very playful!

My first time in a cat cafe. Cats were all sorts of personalities & got educated on how to best interact with cats as well given my limited experience. Drinks were good too! It's sit down style
It's a nice & cozy cafe. Great place to go if you love cats. The cats there are friendly but you are reminded to be gentle with them. The only downside is the actual drinks. We had the ice tea & the iced latte & they were decent. Nothing to rave about but just acceptable drinks. It could have been better. Apart from that, the experience was great & I would love to go back if I visit the city again.
So many cute & friendly cats!! The drinks were not great but I guess that's not the draw of the cafe ... XD. Super cozy, would recommend for cat lovers! 🐾
Cute place to study & yummy drinks. Only downside is the odour in the bathrooms... Cute cats that like having their own space but won't say no to treats.
The Happy Cat Café is delightful. The feline friends are socialized & friendly. The food & drinks are tasty (there are vegan options). The staff is great. There's even a cute boutique next door, where I purchased a whimsical cat themed T-shirt spoofing'Harry Potter'. I'd highly recommend you stop by the café during your next visit to Montréal. P.S. sorry for taking your shirt hanger - it slipped my mind.
If you love cats this place is one you MUST visit! The Happy Cat Cafe is a cat cafe where you can enjoy excellent hand crafted drinks & food while furry friends walk & lounge around. I am always so delighted to visit here play with the cats. I also love drinking their chai lattes as well. Honestly an amazing place to visit if you love cats sometimes their can be a line up but it is worth it to visit the furry friends
