Overall, Buvette Nicole comes across as a warm, intimate French bistro in Old Montreal with a welcoming atmosphere, chic yet cozy decor, and a team that is consistently described as friendly, attentive, and helpful. The menu earns praise for comforting French classics and standout dishes such as fondue, beef bourguignon, duck, gnocchi, and tartare, complemented by well crafted cocktails and thoughtful wine pairings, with brunch and happy hour also receiving high marks. Service is frequently highlighted as fast and personable, though a few visits note occasional slow pacing during busy times and occasional missteps that affected the flow of the meal. The value is a point of contention for some, with several diners calling prices steep or portions variable, yet many reviewers regard the quality and presentation as exemplary. Most reviewers intend to return, describing the place as a gem, a spot to linger with friends or family, and a destination that captures the spirit of a neighborhood French bistro in Montreal.
Probably one of the best restaurants to open up in the Old Port in the last year. Food was incredible, perfectly portioned, beautiful to look at & gets better after every bite especially the salmon crudo that left myself & my fiancee (who usually does not eat/like any raw fish dishes) left us wanting more. Steven, the manager, made our experience THAT much better providing excellent service & making us feel welcome before we even sat down! All in all, highly recommended if you like small & intimate spots where you will feel like you become part of the Buvette family!
A hidden gem. Our group stumbled across this place looking for a drink. Andrew was gracious, funny & welcoming even though we weren't eating that evening & the cocktails were exceptional. Tonight we went back for dinner with our group, now 13 strong, & Andrew was as pleasant & calm with each of as if we were his only customer. Fantastic food, exceptional service. Highly recommend.
I wandered the streets of Montreal looking for a place to eat but nothing was grabbing my attention. I was about to return to my lodging when I stumbled upon this place & thought I would give it a try. What a fortuitous decision! I had one of the best meals of my life but more than that the conversation with Adam the bartender, Andrew the chef, & patrons that was so enjoyable, so engaging that I will absolutely come back the next time I'm in Montreal. I didn't have a main course but two appetizers, grilled octopus & foie gras which were heavenly. Then Andrew bought out the dessert in the photo I've included. If my life had ended right then & there it would be complete! I truly cannot recommend this charming place more highly! I know you will feel the same.
Wow vraiment a essayé! Les plats sont délicieux & avec de bonne portion. J'ai adoré le magret de canard je recommande. Aussi, très bon service de l'équipe.
This cute cafe is such a hidden gem! The gnocchi was incredible & so full of flavor, I really enjoyed their latte as well. I loved the whole vibe of the place & the service was fast, friendly, & super attentive. Highly recommend checking it out.

Delicious & such wonderful service. We had dinner there on a Friday night without a reservation. They were able to seat us without issue even though it was a fairly full & lively dining room. My husband had the duck & it was perfectly cooked. I had the gnocchi & it was delicious & perfect for a cold night. The server was particularly wonderful & offered great recommendations for the area for the rest of our stay highly recommend.

Incredible experience. Chef Alexander Zelina brings his experience from the highest level at a decent price. It's a given that this restaurant is underrated for what you get & the price you pay. Would recommend to anyone who wants authenticity in the old port.
We sat outside on the patio & it was directly next to a sewer grate, which we smelled through our entire dinner. I ordered the lamb which consisted of two chops however 1/2 of each chop consisted of the fat cap & was totally unable. My estimation is that the meal consistent of 4 ounces of edible lamb & the cost was $60. Completely & utterly unacceptable. As I paid for the meal, the waiter stood right beside me & looked at the tip I gave to him on the receipt. Again, completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.
Shared tomahawk steak special & charcuterie were amazing. We just stumbled on this place without checking reviews & the food, service & atmosphere did not disappoint. Highly recommend & would go again.
