A very cute brunch place. Large crepe portions. Cannot say it's the best thing I've ever eaten, but it's a good solid breakfast/brunch/lunch options tons of savory & sweet crepes to choose from. Has outside patio in good weather. Service was lovely.
I ordered La Chevrette for takeout, & the crispness of the crepe still held up pretty well after half an hour, though definitely better to eat it fresh on the spot. I was hooked after the first bite. The goat cheese & the caramelized onions 🤤 The caramelized onions are a must if you get a savory crepe. It's a buckwheat crepe so it was tougher than the traditional flour crepes, but the flavor is significantly better imo. The crepe is large & had a good amount of filling but won't leave you overly stuffed. It was a small meal, but definitely a memorable one.
The folks here are super nice, & service is quick even when they're busy. The place itself has a laid-back, warm vibe. Highly recommend!
Breizh Café is truly something special. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an ambiance that perfectly balances warmth & authenticity. The decor is charming, a subtle nod to Brittany's rich culture, making you feel like you've been transported straight to a cozy café in France.
The menu? Oh, where to even begin… Each dish is crafted with care, & you can immediately tell that high quality ingredients are a top priority here. The crepes both sweet & savory are a work of art, with delicate textures & flavors that blend harmoniously. & the cider? Let's just say it's an experience in itself, offering that perfect crispness to complement the meal.
Service is another highlight. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, & always ready to make recommendations if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the delicious options. Whether you're here for a casual brunch, a quick coffee break, or a relaxed evening with friends, Breizh Café never disappoints.
All in all, it's a place that effortlessly captures the essence of Breton hospitality & cuisine. A must-visit spot in Montreal!
Fantastic crèperie with excellent savory & sweet options. Cozy atmosphere & great service, & it doesn't break the bank. An easy choice for tourists & locals alike.
Went for breakfast on Father's Day. Not related to the Parisian chain. Good cappuccino & hot chocolate. Had savory buckwheat crepes 4 ways. La Complete: ham, Swiss cheese, sunny side up egg; La Nordique: smoked salmon, Swiss cheese, spinach dill cream on top; La Celtique: egg, goat cheese, caramelized onions & leeks; La Vege: Swiss cheese, spinach, tomatoes, caramelized onions with an add-on egg. Sat outside.
Surprisingly good crepes Quebec style. Crispy, savory & sweet crepes with meat, cheese, & vegetable fillings.
Sweet or savory crepes are delicious, the sweet ones are a little too sweet for me.
During my stay in Montreal, I ate at Breizh café twice. The first time, I was quite impressed with the food. Breizh café has a course menu where I can choose a starter, savory, & sweet crepe for $27. I ordered the soup du jour, which was a parsnip vegetable soup, the smoked salmon, swiss cheese, & spinach crepe, & the Belgian chocolate crepe. The soup du jour was hearty & flavorful. It was hands down one of the best vegetable soups I've had. The smoked salmon, swiss, & spinach crepe came in a buckwheat crepe, which had a good texture to it. Lastly, the Belgian chocolate crepe was quite sweet & rich for my liking, but the first few bites were still enjoyable. Because of my enjoyable first experience, I decided to go back a second time. This time, the restaurant was busy & looked heavily understaffed. It was a Saturday so I was confused as to why it was understaffed. That being said, I waited for 20 minutes before I had my order taken. When our waiter finally came, I ordered the French Onion Soup, the tomato & goat cheese crepe, & the apple cinnamon dessert crepe. Then I waited 30 minutes for the French onion soup alone, 40 more minutes for the savory crepe & another 30 more minutes for the dessert crepe following the savory crepe. In addition, our waiter never cared to check on our table & just ignored us every time he walked past. Regarding the food, the French onion soup was salty & watery but bland in terms of flavor from the beef stock & onions. It was one of the more mediocre French onion soups I've had, & I'd expect much better from a creperie in Montreal. The tomato & goat cheese buckwheat crepe was bland, dry & cold, as if it was sitting in the pass for an extended period of time, & the apple cinnamon crepe also came cold. Overall, my second visit to Breizh café consisted of long wait times & inconsistent food, & thus was a major disappointment. It was evident that the restaurant being understaffed on a Saturday affected both customer service & quality control.
My kids & I wanted some authentic French crepes & then we strike gold with this place everything was made from scratch they had amazing coffee cappuccino french onion soup the Crepes were insane they had Savory & sweet I had a flambe rum personally.
