Charmant décor, simple & agréable. La table d'hôte est très bien avec choix de soupe, crêpes au sarrasin (sans gluten) & desserts. Avec un verre de vin, c'est un merveilleux repas.
Walked in after dinner for dessert crepes & unexpectedly blew me away.
The stella rose is amazing, not too sweet & well balanced. Very nice with tea.
Service is superb, very cheerful & attentive. Waiter is also very patient & cool if you'd like to practice your french!
What a gem of a crêperie !! My experience there was perfect from start to finish. All the staff was welcoming & the service, impeccable. (including serving my 2 crêpes in hot plates so they didn't become immediately cold - rare to see restaurants do that these days). My buckwheat galette with goat cheese & spinach (added spinach as an extra) was crispy & flavourful. I could tell the ingredients were qualitative, including the goat cheese. For dessert I had a "beurre sucre", probably the simplest option, & my favourite. It was great too. The decor & playlist were cherries on top. I wish Toronto had such an authentic crêperie bretonne like Breizh.
Delicious gluten free crepe options, love the filling options & specials menu. Also great desserts. Lovely service & outdoor dining experience.
Fell in love with this little café thanks to their delicious & decadent crepes. The After Eight dessert crepe in particular was heavenly. Great spot for a quick, yummy bite!
During my stay in Montreal, I ate at Breizh café twice. The first time, I was quite impressed with the food. Breizh café has a course menu where I can choose a starter, savory, & sweet crepe for $27. I ordered the soup du jour, which was a parsnip vegetable soup, the smoked salmon, swiss cheese, & spinach crepe, & the Belgian chocolate crepe. The soup du jour was hearty & flavorful. It was hands down one of the best vegetable soups I've had. The smoked salmon, swiss, & spinach crepe came in a buckwheat crepe, which had a good texture to it. Lastly, the Belgian chocolate crepe was quite sweet & rich for my liking, but the first few bites were still enjoyable. Because of my enjoyable first experience, I decided to go back a second time. This time, the restaurant was busy & looked heavily understaffed. It was a Saturday so I was confused as to why it was understaffed. That being said, I waited for 20 minutes before I had my order taken. When our waiter finally came, I ordered the French Onion Soup, the tomato & goat cheese crepe, & the apple cinnamon dessert crepe. Then I waited 30 minutes for the French onion soup alone, 40 more minutes for the savory crepe & another 30 more minutes for the dessert crepe following the savory crepe. In addition, our waiter never cared to check on our table & just ignored us every time he walked past. Regarding the food, the French onion soup was salty & watery but bland in terms of flavor from the beef stock & onions. It was one of the more mediocre French onion soups I've had, & I'd expect much better from a creperie in Montreal. The tomato & goat cheese buckwheat crepe was bland, dry & cold, as if it was sitting in the pass for an extended period of time, & the apple cinnamon crepe also came cold. Overall, my second visit to Breizh café consisted of long wait times & inconsistent food, & thus was a major disappointment. It was evident that the restaurant being understaffed on a Saturday affected both customer service & quality control.
Crepe was okay not great & the flan dessert was stale. Okay food nothing great. Crepe is much better from Quebec City.
Quel régal ! De vraies délicieuses galettes de sarrasin puis d’excellentes crêpes dessert… il est difficile parfois d’y trouver une table tant le restaurant semble victime de son succès mais on recommande chaudement !
We recently saw an interview with the owner of the Breizh Cafe & decided we needed to try it. It is a small business restaurant whose owner makes speciality crepes from Brittany (France). As we entered we immediately got a table; we ordered "La Robiquette" (Sausage from Toulouse, Swiss cheese, tomatoes & caramelized onions) & "La Parisienne" (ham, Swiss cheese, béchamel sauce & sautéed mushrooms) - both were very good (rating 4/5). When the 2 plates came you couldn't know which one was which as both crepes looked identical. For dessert we decided to take 1 sweet flambé crepe called "l'Antillaise" (banana, chocolate, coconut, & rum) - it was also very good (rating 4/5).
Prices are affordable & fair. The only thing which we found average was the service.
Overall - Recommended as it offers interesting crepes.
