A beautifully decorated restaurant in the old port of Montréal that serves up some wonderful dishes 🍽️ Pictured below 📸: 👉🏼 French onion soup 👉🏼 Beef tartare The French onion soup was one of the best I have ever had 🧅It even was served in the proper handlebar bowl & was just fantastic tasting. The beef tartare came with a side of fries & salad (we had the choice to pick one or the other for a side but our server said we could do half & half if we wanted, so opted for that option). The tartare itself was very good, however the French fries were unfortunately luke warm (& luke warm is being generous 😒). Cold food is always a big ❌ for me, especially when it should be fresh & piping hot, but our server was very kind & had no problem taking the fries back to the kitchen & serving us up a new, hot batch (or maybe they were just re-heated, but either way they came back hot 😜). Another reason why I'm only giving 3 stars is because my side plate that was served to me was dirty! This is unacceptable & was quite appalling given we were the second couple to be seated in the restaurant & it wasn't even busy. Would love to come back here on a Sat/Sun & try their brunch menu & give this place the opportunity to score 4-5 starts from me 🍳🥑

Disappointed with the food. This place is always packed, but we didn't have the best experience. The hollandaise sauce tasted heavily of Dijon mustard.
Food was ok but they shared us 37$ a glass of wine. They substituted the wine we wanted by something else. Never told us the price. We called back later & got attitude. They said it was a large glass of wine. We could have ordered 2 smaller ones for cheaper.
Beautiful & quiet breakfast at Brasserie 701. The sunshine through the large windows was very soothing. Paola, our waitress, was very attentive to our needs. Great food, reasonable price & generous portions!!! I will be back......
The breakfast & ambiance were great, but I absolutely was not happy with where I got a table. It was right next to the exit, & I could see & hear them scraping leftover food from the plates. Apparently, that is where non hotel guests get to sit. Very disappointing. & the female staff were chatting the whole time around the exit, which was right behind my table. Overall, wouldn't go there again.

My wife & I really enjoyed our visit to the restaurant. She had the best cocktail she ever had - the Nectar Royal, & I had a delicious molten lava cake. Our server, Julie provided us fantastic service & even bought out some additional whipped cream to top off my dessert!! Great job. We will be back.
