A place where it is good to come to relax, at any time of the day of 7 @ 7 and 7/7. A bakery - Coffee bar - Urban cafeteria created by two passionate friends, Riccardo and François.
Boulangerie Le Toledo earns wide praise for exceptional breads and a wide range of pastries, from flaky croissants and chausson aux pommes to savory sandwiches and focaccia, all paired with good coffee in a warm, bright space that can feel busy at peak times. Many reviews note long lines, limited seating, occasional understaffing, and prices that can be higher than expected for Montreal. Takeaway is popular and the overall vibe is comforting and lively, with compliments for quality, aroma, and consistency, while a few comments mention inconsistent service or crowding. Overall, Boulangerie Le Toledo stands out as a go-to bakery in the area for bread lovers and pastry fans alike.

Listen, their baked goods are great, prices are ok, & I like supporting local bakeries. However, I understand that things can get very busy & packed, but it's not the customers' fault if they're understaffed. I got blamed for so many times - I said for here, only to be told off why didn't I say so earlier; I moved to the front of the line for something, only to be told off why I didn't mention to the previous staff at a previous station, dude there was no one there. Even IF it was my fault, unless I did something horrible, you shouldn't tell off customers like that. These young folks didn't seem to have any customer service training.
& the place could be cleaned more frequently.

Best bread & pastry in Montreal! I just LOVE the chausson aux pommes & the fougasse aux olives.
Always buying more than I came for!
For take away better go early in the morning to avoid the queue. It gets crowded & noisy during the day, reason why I never sit for a coffee & dessert. The outside sitting is rudimentary; it could be a nice terrace during the summer (maybe due to personnel costs? no interest to maintain it).
The Hot chocolate is average, probably ok for North American standards/ taste.
Super nice bakery in plateau Mont Royal neighbourhood! Like their live ambiance & the great cafe! If you are looking for a healthy meal & not heavy they have some tomato salad with mozzarella cheese ,that was very refreshing is hot summer days, also I really liked the flan de caramel for dessert. Highly recommended!
We walked into this, sun fliued, fabulous smelling shop hoping the reviews were on point. & they were!
They have the absolute best pastries. Croissant so flaky & crisp & lovely you will think you are in butter heaven. Eclair so perfect & chocolately you won't need a sweet treat for days. We went back before we left the city to get more treats, because once you find a place as good as this, you don't go anywhere else!
I went back to the shop to let them know the almond filling in the croissant I bought yesterday had gone bad. Unfortunately, the staff just said'ok' & didn't offer any solution or apology. Very disappointing customer service because this is a food quality issue, & I didn't feel it was taken seriously.
Don't let quality control slip just because the business is doing well.
The staff also need improvement - their attitude comes across as careless & unprofessional.
J'ai fait le TOLEDO Verdun ou je réside, en sortant du Métro j'ai remarqué un autre TOLEDO, j'ai gouté un croissant moyen & un café acceptable mais un endroit sympa. Pour le service, bref ...
I absolutely have to give you the props you deserve for marking down unsold products in the hours before closing instead of throwing excess product out like I have witnessed other establishments doing. You're limiting food waste & allowing people without a lot of extra spending room to enjoy your amazing products, the absolute hallmark of a local business that deserves support. Thank you for what you bring to Montréal, you have a great team, exceptional bread/pastries, & you provide a great model for other businesses.
Such a wonderful boulangerie! Located in the heart of Le Plateau, they truly have everything you could want: beautifully crafted artisanal breads, delicious pastries (including croissants reminiscent of top Paris boulangeries), cakes, & plenty of savory options like quiches & sandwiches.
The coffee is excellent, the staff are friendly, & the atmosphere is both cozy & bright. I love the furniture & how the large windows fill the space with light no matter where you sit.
Just keep in mind that it can get quite busy, & finding a seat might be tricky, even on a Monday afternoon.
